My dad had a Llama 9mm . I remember the front sight moving all over the place, and it jamming.

S&W model 422 .22 auto pistol .I ended up selling it to a farmer who said he was going to use it for skunks i was told that it jammed up and he got sprayed.

The only reliable ammo I've found for a 10/22 is lead round nose "hyper velocity". The bolt and guide spring are a little too stiff for anything less and any shape other than round nose won't feed properly because the feed path is a little steep. Once you get the right ammo it's a joy to shoot. You'll still get the occational ammo-related malfunction but face it, you're paying .05$ a round for 22LR....

Brand new Ruger 10/22 rifle. Seemed like 1:3 shots jammed like a sandwich full strawberry smuckers.Probably was the ammo. I felt the rifle was ackward but I know some people that love that .22 ! Perhaps I'm not giving it a fair chance. It is a brand new rifle. Maybe I'll try different ammo.

A Savage .22LR/.410 over and under.
Each barrel shot about 2 1/2 feet inopposing directions of the POA.
And I couldn't get it fixed.

story of 2 guns:

glock 21 - f'ing awesome gun, hit every time.(factory ammo)

Beretta 92fs P.O.S. damn gun spent more time shooting air than targets. No matter who was holding it that gun would not hit a damn thing. Cycled fine but damn who cares if you cannot hit anything. (factory ammo)

I know mostly these guns have a good rep but the beretta was gone way first. Now I shoot G17.
Side bar- crappiest rifle I ever owned - Nork. SKS - when I got the gun the firing pin was press-fit into the bolt. (had to be hydraulicly removed) shot 1000 rnds no probs, now wont even fire 50% of the time

Virtually everyone has a horror story about 1 or more firearms that they have owned. Here's my lever horror story;

In '94 I was looking for a lever in .357 because I was doing alot of .357 shooting out of my M66 and wanted a cheap and easy round that I could reload in abundance. After looking around for about 6-8 months I couldn't find one, I even phoned Winchester! The nice lady said that they didn't have enough calls to start manufacturing them again. Remember this was before Cowboy Action got bigger.

I finally gave up on .357 and found a Winchester Wrangler in .44 Magnum. Shades of John Wayne that large loop lever was kewl! Little did I realize that with 2 years, I'd start shooting Cowboy Action. I did lots of testing and came up 7.2 grains of Unique pushing a 240 grain LSWC bullet as an accurate target load.

Within the first 20 rds down range, the pot metal feed ramp broke. Off for warranty work! Eight months later I get the rifle back. After every 50 rds the rear sight elevator would fall off. So we have to install a Williams rear sight! Shooting again after every 50 rds the screws in the receiver would work loose. Locktite!! After 1,500 rds the tubular magazine spring gave up the ghost! Wolfe Gunsprings to the rescue. After this the Lever Link broke, 3 months and 5 nasty letters later, Winchester told me they would sell me the part but without warranty! They wanted me to send the gun to the warranty centre again!

That was the last straw, I found a sucker to buy the Winchester and bought a Marlin M1894S, after 8,000 rds through it, it broke a firing pin. I love the quality Marlin builds in.

P.S. My Wrangler was one of 4 Wranglers in town with the same problems.

maybe it wasn't the gun...

Had a Winchester made Garand once that was sooo clapped out, after two rounds and she warmed up, I don't think it would even hit the backstop.

The worst POS handgun that I have ever owned was a Uberti 1873 Cattleman in 45 Colt. Got rid of it as fast as I could and replaced it with Ruger Bisley Vaquero's in 45 Colt.

The biggest POS rifle that I have ever had was a Remington 7400 30-06 carbine. It is still in my safe because I can't find the heart to sell it to someone else......

The worst I've ever owned was a Grendel .380, bought NIB in the `80's. In 200 rounds, it never went through a full mag without a major jam. Fortunately, the dealer took it back and told me he's never sell another Grendel again. Every one he sold had been returned.

How about an old Herter revolver in 357 magnum from the fifties that when fired the cylinder would freeze to the rotator pin so that it couldnt be turned by the hand for the next shot.

A trigger sear that was comprised of three pieces of flat steel then riveted together in such a way that they would easily break under use.

We called it the Pulp Fiction Special...you know like that black guy that comes out of the closet to shoot Vincent and Jules...he lets off all six shots and doesnt hit ####...that kind of revolver.

10 yards away and it would miss...from the bench

There was something horribly wrong with that gun

A Springfield Armory Trophy Match 1911 - not only did it cost me an arm and a leg. It continually kept breaking granted SA was good at taken care of the repairs except I wouldn't see the pistol for weeks at a time. I bought 3 more 1911s since (Valtro's & Colt} and they work flawlessly.
