Worst hunting product you've ever seen?

That sounds like my Fitbit watch... I call them a S.H.I.T.-BIT
2 of them died within a year and they offer me 25% off on my next one...
NOPE

Spypoint cell trail cameras
Spend $400+ on a camera and a year later they email you and tell you that they no longer support it. It stops working...
But they give you the chance to buy the new one if you like.

I will nominate almost any hunting accessory you could buy when I was a kid. We're spoiled now, but back 50 years ago the available quality of things like compasses, garments, knives, whatever was almost nonexistent, at least as far as regular people were concerned, in that if you could even find out about it, the price was out of reach.

Who has consulted solunar tables, the graphs that are supposed to be able to predict when fish are biting and game is circulating according to the position of the moon? Invented by a famous fly fisherman named John Alden Knight, a kind of annoying guy.

Except for the army surplus stuff that was plentiful in the 60's and 70's.

I hate Sitka gear. I know there are plenty of guys that will disagree with me but I hate it. Overpriced, poorly made, cold, and does not breathe well. I spent most of my life in the mountains, climbing and hunting so I have used a pile of different gear. But the Sitka gear does not hold up to rock and the layering does not help when the temperatures drop below zero. I think most Sitka supporters are drawn in by the look cool factor of shiny kit and cool patterns. I will stick with my Arcteryx, Icebreaker, and Outdoor Research.

I have a collection of deer hunting magazines going back 20 years+. It’s really interesting to go back through them and checking out the ads. Some real losers! The cough muffler comes to mind.

Hunting clothing has always been lightyears behind the hiking/climbing/ski clothing in terms of function and tech.

Tenderbuck Electrostimulator

Left the youtube video open on my laptop and walked away from the room. My wife was curious and hit play...She was not impressed. She still has nightmares

And thats exactly it, being totally camo'd out and making turkey noises is already pretty dangerous with some of the yahoos that are out there - I know I've heard a few stories of people being shot by negligent turkey hunters who were shooting at sounds or the first glimpse of movement. Putting something that makes you look like a Tom right infront of your face seems downright stupid in light of that.

It's interesting how you claim something is apparently so dangerous even though you have zero experience turkey hunting or using the method being discussed and are relying on BS stories you've heard.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about.

I saw something on Amazon today that made me think "Who the FK would ever want to use that!?".

This made me think we could get a good discussion going on other ridiculous products... So What product have you seen that made you ask yourself WTF?

A new Anti plan to get rid of hunters?

Small item, but laser bore sighters are pretty much useless.

That "butt out" thingy for field dressing. Who invented that.....wtf

Most important items would be a good thread.

I thought the butt out tool looked ridiculous too, then I tried it. It actually makes things much easier. Totally worth the money.

I was going to buy one of those. Then I opted for a regular one instead. Glad I didn't make the same mistake. What a rip off.
