Worth it to buy a buttstock monopod?

Not under the monopod just under my arm for comfort, and i agree that anywere else than a hard surface, the bag would be better... JP.
 
Handsome rifle there Skullboy.
It is interesting to see how some of us like to shoot with the rifle down low to the ground, and others are good up higher.
Can you stay comfortable with that rig when shooting downhill?.

A barrelchested buddy of mine, he kicks ass from nosebleed altitudes.

... with a really big big bag.

I have 3 sizes of bags to choose from..........

Small-3" X 4" approx. 1.0 lbs
Medium-3" X 6" approx. 1.5 lbs
Large - 6" X 8" approx. 5.5 lbs

The large and Medium bags have Molle webbing so they can be secured together with Malice straps when used as a front rest...........I do a lot of shooting with the Large/Medium combo at the front, and the small bag at the rear.
 
It's always interested me to see how we can do things so differently, while achieving similar results.
Like I said, nice kit.
I've got 1 each 3"x5"x2" thick airsoft pellet filled rear bag. That works for me with a sporter shaped stock and the bi-pod at 6 inches off the deck.
 
I think part of the problem with the mono-pod, in addition to the shot to shot tinkering required (I found even at long range on semi-solid surfaces there was constant adjustment required), is the fact it can mess with one's follow through. I had one of the early accu-shot ones and used it for about half a year in practice and competitions trying to give it an honest Evaluation. Eventually dumped it to go back to a rear bean bag, and haven't looked back.

Those mono's, they do look pretty hip .. while yer gun's sitting up there on the wall hooks.
Belly down somewhere in some gawdforsaken snowdrift? .. not so hip no mo.

I treasure the camo rip-stop back-bag 'buzzballer' made up for me with about half-a-weeks-pay wortha airsoft pellets in it.
Best xmas present I ever got.
