Probobly a newbie question but I ordered a Rear Sight Assembly (Complete) from someone online. When it came it was just the top of the sight and didn’t include the sight base. I have seen Complete Rear Sight Assembly advertised on several websites but none seem to detail what is included. Anybody know? Thanks,

A fair question. This is probably a good example of the value of pictures and communications between seller and buyer.

On most Military rifles, the BASE is permanently attached to the barrel, usually with a screw and solder. To me, the SIGHT including the arm, spring, pin, sight leaf and elevation adjustment parts would constitute the sight if it was offered as "Complete."

I've bought them with base and without. In later ones the base is more-or-less permanently riveted on. But I doubt I'll ever use the base, getting it on would be a fight in itself.

I am not mad, I was just wondering if there was a standard so I know for my next buy.

I have a mk3 with a rear sight that is completely wrong. Its worth finding a sight for though. Thanks for the information.
