Would anybody buy a kit to make a double barreled pump shotgun?

This would be made by tying a left ejecting Remington 870 and a right ejecting Remington 870 at certain contact points on the gun. The contact points would be at the tube nuts and the trigger pins with a large fore-grip that would operate both pumping actions.

Would anybody actually buy a kit that would do this? Somebody else did it and I thought there might be a tacticool market for it. Here are the pics of somebody else's attempt. If there were a kit it would have a much better finish, of course!

This would probably be better if Dominion Arms came out with left ejecting model. Just imagine, a double barreled pump shotgun for ~$750.R:d:

My question you you guys is: Is the magazine tube the same length on most, if not all 870's?

Thanks!

How would one pull the triggers independently? Couldn't make it so one pull fires both shotguns, that would be a no, no. I think CanAm has already accomplished this type of goal by making the mag fed shotgun. With 30 round mags, I would be getting four of the shotguns.

I wanted to do this, but by making my own receiver in one piece, but that is more or less a pipe dream.

Would be better if you could make up a way to have triggers in front of one another like a O+U or SXS

Not with a pump. Too cumbersome to work the action. Pairing a couple of 1100's with a joining link between the two triggers might be fun. To prevent any concerns about legality the single trigger could be pull/release like some target shotguns. Right right gun fires when the trigger is pulled, the second fires when it is released. If it's legal for target o/u it should be legal for twinned guns.

Carrying it around might be a bit of a challenge but it could be mounted on the back of a vehicle and used as a fixed position HD or pest control gun. On the back of an ATV it would be excellent for reducing bird problems in fields and vineyards.

Might need a tri-pod for that:d

Being two guns I guess you should be able to have 10+2

single trigger could be pull/release like some target shotguns. Right right gun fires when the trigger is pulled, the second fires when it is released.

That sounds cool, you could really get through 12 rounds quick with that set up!

Irimu

I seem to remember that, in the 80's, Soldier of Fortune magazine had a writeup on a pair of Remington 1100s linked to make a beast they called the "Irimu" after an African were-leopard or something.
.
Anybody else recall this or can find the original information?

Yeah me too...

I think that two semi autos would be the best way to do it. Maybe two supermags?

You'd have to register it as two separate shotguns, and keep the mag capacity to 5 per gun... That's ten rounds altogether though, that's not bad at all for a shotgun.

The hard part would be devising furniture - like a double forend and some kind of pistol grip / buttstock setup - to make it look and feel like a coherent firearm, and not some wacky hack job.

And Moe from the Simpsons!

An adapter to connect the two but stocks and have one stock mount location would be far better then the one pistol grip/one inline stock set up above, and two fore-stock tubes hooked together with a grip in the center. I think the one pictured above had a hacked up 2x4 for a fore grip!
