Would You Actually Trade Your M14 For An FAL?

All my guns and the wife and her bloody cat......but only if it was non restricted.
Throw in a SMG and I'll take her back off you LOL

I have both and if I had the choice of original M14 and L1 A1, I would take the M14. If it was a choice of M14 and FN FAL I would take the FN FAL.
I don't know why but I like FN FAL over the L1 A1.

I have a couple I used to shoot now I cant use them and I still would trade my 305 for another one to sit in my safe.

Don't know enough about FALs to make that call. Even if FALs were non-restricted, it'd still just sit in my lock up collecting dust like my M14. My AR15 is the only rifle I have that sees any light these days.

early 80's

$350 would have been too rich for my budget back then (early 80's). I bought my Swedish AG42b, and that included the accessory kit, for $69.00 back then. Mosin Nagants went for $40.00. Most surplus rifles were under a $100 back then. $350 for an M14 would have been a pretty pricey item.

In a heartbeat. More realistically I'd trade my Norc M14, and probably a few other rifles for a FN-49 in factory original 7.62 NATO.

How can you compare a Mosin Nagant & AG42b to a USGI M14 .
Used AR sp1's went for $400 . M1 carbines were $200 , 1911A1 ww2 surplus were $250 to $300
