I was looking at those a few years ago for my Ross. There is quite a bit of info on them in Clive Law's book "Without Warning"

What a oddball looking scope. A beauty none the less.

It weighs 2 1/4 lbs and it sits off-set to the left side of the rifle. In the 1913 model, they had three holes punched in the rubber to alleviate suction problems of the rubber eyepiece not letting go after a shot, due to tight 1 1/2" eye relief. A lot of snipers threw away the eyepieces (or they fell apart) and they ended up sighting up close to the metal eyepiece ring without any rubber part.

Can you imagine your eye only 1 1/2" behind the eyepiece and letting loose a 30.06 (originally 2800 fps) round ....

Must have been a lot of black eyes and bleeding cuts to nose bridges. :D

There was a nice set of scope fittedRoss rifles in the canadian war museum in Ottawa before the Vimy house move was done, I took some pictures but they came out really crappy. I have a Ross and had a gerat conversation with my gt Uncle about his issued one and the tales from his dad (my Gramps) about it. Uncle Bill was Grenadier Gds and during training the armoury burnt down. They were issued Ross rifles from the reserve stock and many long distance calls to dads were made!
