What is your interest in the billet lower?

The limited production of billet lowers compatible with the AR180B upper is becoming closer to a reality. What I need now is to gauge the interest. Also, what do you all believe the market would pay for such a lower? To keep costs down they would most likely be offered as stripped lowers to be used with an AR15 parts kit. I can't even speculate on cost, something under $500, depending on volume of production.

Be advised, this venture is still many months away as there are still some fundamental design issues to be worked out.

As the persons who buy said lower would have a useless polymer lower sitting around collecting dust, I have the idea to make a 9mm upper and mag well adapter to use the 10 round LAR mags. This design is still in the concept stage.

I think if there was a way to obtain just the upper then getting a lower is sensible. But the whole rifle seems hard to get at all. I'm inclined to say that $500 is the most I'd pay with lower completion parts inserted. If you had Stormwerkz stock adaptors and rails ready for shipping at the same time, that would be good customer service.

I've talked to Wolverine about this, the cost of a complete AR180B upper is around $800. Might as well buy the whole thing. Maybe a bulk order would be cheaper but then I may as well just make a billet upper and sell complete rifles. Which could happen... some day. ;)

This is why I hope to offer a 9mm upper and magwell adapter so you can make some use out of your polymer lower. This, of course, depends on the success of the billet lowers but I'd hope to make the design so you can switch back and forth, for those that want 9mm but don't want to permanently change their polymer lower.

Added bonus if you'd add in the enhanced triggerguard and flared magwell like on the new Magpul lower.
These are two features I plan to add into the final production version.

If the billet lowers do well, who knows, there may be a good chance of a complete rifle, of slightly different design, available.

There's big things coming in the Canadian firearms industry boys, just you wait.

:ar15:a non-restricted 9mm carbine makes it very intereresting to me
and i think i need a non-restricted 5.56 nato rifle anyway. i can definetly see myself buying your product in the future :ar15:

You know, you've gone this far - why not make, dare I say a completely Canadian, non-restricted 5.56mm rifle. (even if it looks like an AR180B) I'd buy one. Your own upper could have a decent rail built in to it . I'll buy a lower anyway - I'll find a way to get an upper from somewhere, gotta be some guys with prohib rifles who'll sell the upper for shared range time.

Neat'o. :) Yah if they could take the LAR mags I'd also be interested. :)

So would these then be able to take any upper, and other AR furniture and still be non restricted rifles?

Great work. I say go for the full monty and build a complete rifle of your own design.
That's the plan, I already have it designed. How ever, I lack the capital to develop and build a complete rifle at this time. I'm doing this in stages, uppers will come eventually, and then complete rifles.

For those thinking, "Oh wow, another one of Armedsask's pipe dreams that goes no where", worry not. I'm not in it alone this time.

Now a question for you; why the hell wouldn't it take LAR15 magazines? they are just AR15 mags.
