Would you come to a multi day F-Class long range match in Mb in 2010?

Yes, it's still alive and breathing but everything is on hold pending the decision of DND on whether or not to commit to granting us exclusive use of St. Charles ranges for the dates in question.

A formal request through the MPRA was submitted to DND almost two months ago and we have heard nothing back.

If DND is not prepared to assure us that we will not be bumped at the last minute we will not be proceeding. There's no way I'm going to ask people to travel from across Canada and spend big $ on travel expenses and match fees only to find out the night before the shoot that someone from DND has decided they need the range at the last minute for some purpose or other and boot us off.

PG as you may or may not be aware, the DCRA has appointed a few regional F-Class directors tasked with the mandate to search venues for a match just as you were attempting to do under the auspices of a conjoint DCRA/PRA Canadian Regional Championship. I am in the Western Canadian seat for this.

Please keep us posted. I would like to see a Western regional DCRA championship happen and your event has the most promise with the ball fully rolling. If it isn't going to happen (and I know it is not for lack of effort or ambition on your part) then I/we can begin searching for another venue. Homestead and the APRA looking most promising, but there would be several issues to overcome.

Thanks for your efforts and know that the idea -and your effort - has caught the eyes of shooters all across Canada.

Ian,

I had no idea that the DCRA had appointed anyone to find or organize F-class matches. Out here in Mb there is not much that filters out to the F-class guys from the MPRA or DCRA. We have an F-Class rep on the MPRA exec but I've heard zip from him since he was elected.

There has been a discussion about the feasability of establishing a "Canadian F Class" website dedicated to Canadian F'ers .I think this would be a great way to link all F shooters together and improve communication to all involved or interested.
Am hoping this event will be a GO and some of us ORA people can get west of Kenora and spend some time shooting out there with you.
Keep us in the loop.
Thanks
Gord

I have been following this thread and am very interested in attending but have only one reference by Rnbra shooter about dates (July long weekend). Do we have proposed dates so those of us who have to book Vacation in the early parts of 2010 can set aside the time with work it is much easier to cancel days then try to ask for days when someone else has booked them.

Gord do you need a driving buddy if this is a go??

Trevor

Was chatting with Bob Raymond, if we can gather enough of a group,we can "rent-a-bus"
and travel in mass.(One of them with a head)
Even suggested Bob liberate one his helicopters for a weekend's test
flights. I'm sure he could get the "executive" with hot tub and flight attendants.
Will be watching and trying to figure out 2010 schedule as things get confirmed.
