Would you consider bringing in Norinco 97 bullpups? (Part Deux)

At a $800ish ticket price, would you buy a 97A bullpup?

It would be kind of funny for them to stamp ;)
"For Civilian Use Only"
"Canada :canadaFlag: Non-Restricted"

Forget funny - it would be pretty hard for the gun grabbers to ever call it a cheap, 3rd world, military assault weapon if it was stamped "Semi-Auto: For Civilian Use Only". :D

Maybe, but we have the JS05 coming first (secret squirrel)
Sooo tempted to pay the $100 and get a spot on the Type 97 waiting list, but I don't know if I'd ever grow to love the 97's enormous carry handle. Maybe rifle codename JS05 will be a non-restricted, LAR pistol mag compatible, 5.56 flattop black rifle? :p

Type 05 is their bullpup SMG. Made in 5.8mm (pistol length cartridges) and 9mm, according to

http://world.guns.ru/smg/smg75-e.htm

I'd love to know the barrel length; I've never seen a pic of one without the suppressor on it. I imagine it'd look a bit weird if they put an 18.5 inch barrel on it though; like the USC but even more so and bullpup

So, here's a reminder of those who said they'd buy a 97A...

Let's make good on that. I will.

Plus I noted this thread only has two stars! We did it! The affordable 97s are coming. That should bring some stars unless you have zero pulse.

Two of testing samples of the gun during development.

Yes, there is really no reason to accept a soft deposit. We are trying to cut down on the number of tire kickers who place pre-orders, hence the "hard" deposit, and a freebie to compensate those who do place the pre-order. You of course can wait and simply order the gun when they arrive, but many like to get on a list so they don't miss out, hence the pre-orders.

I understand your position, and it is certainly your right to do so. My problem is this: I may be moving in the next few months, and if I do I may not have easy access to my firearms (Might go back to school. Universities frown on people with guns). So, I was perfectly prepared to put 100$ on my visa to get on the list and hold one, but I simply wanted the opportunity to cancel the order and get it refunded at a later point if my situation changed.

I work in the model airplane industry, and we take a 30% deposit on items not in stock, it is refundable. Our point in taking such a large deposit (typically 200-300$) is that it allows us not to chase people who have put one on order. If people change their minds, they want their money back, they call us. I don't have to chase people when the container comes in with hundreds of planes and dozens of people behind them on the list.

So, I well understand the requirement of a deposit.

I will probably just wait for now until I know what is going on, and then either put on on order or take my chances.

From my POV, I was prepared to pay the full (undisclosed price) they cost dealers, so $100 is a bargain. Having a real custom made picatinny rail is the bonus. One hundred bucks? Have you ever gone to a movie and dinner lately? You should get a rifle from this batch. There could be a Liberal government in the future.

unless you are living in residence there is no reason to not own a gun because of university, im a student and i will regularly surf this site on the school computers

I think it's more to keep random fondlers from absent mindedly walking out of the room with it. Looks weaker than even the dollar store bike lock cables.

the cheap wire was connected to a even cheaper safety pin of a Norinco hand grenade...:D

Oh, btw, if the CanAmmo web admin noticed a sudden increase of hits of the site, don't panic, not a hacker's attack, just us CGNers...;););)

Let's talk optics.

I am thinking about a 3-9x42 illuminated reticle scope. Allows for Service Rifle at 4 power. Anyone know which rings to get considering the ears of the carrying handle?

I was thinking a Burris timberline 4x20 w/ B-plex and probable mount it as low as possible. Only thing is i wish it had an illuminated reticle...
