At a $800ish ticket price, would you buy a 97A bullpup?

Didn't the other thread (part un) determine that the rifle above is not an M-97 and that it doesn't shoot 5.56? It's an M-88 and shoots an oddball cartridge. Hopefully I'm wrong because I would love the flattop version shooting .223. :sniper:

There is a 5.56mm version apparently. True, it is not a 97, but the myth that it is persists. I just gave up at trying to explain it.

Sooo maybe you need to add an option to your poll: "If the 97 was the only model available, but if the flattop 88 is chambered in 5.56 I'd buy it instead"

I will buy the gun restricted or not at 800.
As for the 88 John hasn't mentioned it yet so I don't understand why everyone keeps acting like its being offered as an option.

The 5.56 versio of type 88 won't be 800. it will be double of that IMHO.

The type 88 and the type 95 are totally different animals.

What I guess Marstar is implying will be a 18.5" non restricted vdersion of the type 95 in 556, ie type 97

I still don't understand why anyone will pay 3600 for this type 88 thing while you can get a Swiss arms that can outperform it with a factory target at over 700 bucks less. Anyone who clamp a bipod on the barrel doesn't know what a precision rifle is about, and should spend sometime on the range.

$3,600 ?!
$800 x 2 = $1,600

Still, I'd only be interested in the 88 if it was real close to the $800 suggested price tag of the 97. Once a rifle breaks the $1,000 barrier, it had better be a real performer and I doubt either of these rifles are.

Why do people feel the need to repost pics that are already in the initial thread? Just tell me about how much and when lol.
