thanks tootall - I just did a search and saw your video's. Dr. Lector had some great photos as well. I wonder how many of the 50 Lever brought in have actually sold? Well - I'm heading to Van in a few weeks and I'll have to take a look at them up close and personal. I better leave my credit card at home just in case...it tends to jump out of my wallet when I'm in gun stores.

I noticed you're doing some good reviews. From a consumers point of view (IE take it for what it's worth). I've bought a number of firearm magazines lately and I've been completely disapointed with most of them. Any firearms review that doesn't have an accuracy test, is incomplete.

I bought one due to the front page having the Masada / Bushmaster ACR on the front cover. So I read the entire thing twice. I felt ripped off. They go as far as to say they tested it with all kinds of ammo various sighting devices such as scopes etc. Yet there is one sentence on the accuracy. It states a regular one will shoot 2 moa, while the sniper one shot less than 1 moa. Ya thanks guys. All that testing and that's the best you can come up with? Was I ever pissed.

Anyways, I've had a bit to drink tonight (crap week at work) so take my 2 cents for what it's worth. Plus I should know better than to post while intoxicated. But that's another thread.

By the way I did like your review on the Type 97. An accuracy testing section at the end would have completed it.

Thanks for the input, I'll certainly do a proper benchrest accuracy test when time allows.
I presume you are referring to the written article on both the Tavor and the 97A in the CSSA mag, and not the little Youtube bit above.
BTW, sorry about the lack of photos of the 97A in the article. Somehow, they got left out, so only Tavor photos got printed. Doubly unfortunate for me, as I had driven into Vancouver to Lever Arms the day after the range shoot to get more photos, including pix of the internals.
Oh well.


PS Does anyone know how to change the settings on an already recorded video clip? I have two other short videos of the 97, but they are both just over 100MB, so I cannot upload to Youtube.

I was speaking to John yesterday and he said he is brining them, when they are going to come he can’t say but he is going to do it we just have to be patient. Lets face it he did it with the M14S and the VZ58 why should this be any different. I agree its hard to be patient I can’t wait to add one to my collection. I guess this waiting is allowing me to slowly hide the funds from the wife. She would cut my balls off if she knew how much I have spent on my toys
 
Tootall - have you tried sniper version for accuracy? Somebody mentioned under moa - is it true? I am still thinking about that one and only sniper sitting at Lever Arms. Word was out they might be bringing more of those, not sure if I should wait. 3450$ right now, I wonder if price would drop once they bring more in.

The question keeps coming up as to when these might arrive. I can't divulge what I know in full detail. If they do come in, I am not sure of the model that may arrive. The options are standard, LMG and shorty. Potential importers know this, but what can be actually found, bought, & delivered? Nobody knows. When it doubt about model and availability, Lever is still an option.

Since these threads have generated interest, what model would you prefer, so at least importers know?

A) Restricted standard model
B) Non-restricted LMG model
C) Restricted Shorty model

We already have the numbers for the 88 sniper model. So, if you voted, state which model you would prefer.

I only fired the one rifle in the Video. It was one of the first 5 that Lever brought in, and this one is the personal one belonging to the owner of L.A.

Yes, $3450 is a crapload of money and I suspect that the prices might just drop if other importers also bring in various version of the 97A

Just as Deckard above is sworn to secrecy as to what he knows, I too know a bit more that I have let on. There is another importer (besides Marstar) that is serious about importing these.
As it was told to me in confidence, I will not say more until I am given the OK to.
As a writer, I have to have the trust of those I talk to.
