Would you consider bringing in Norinco 97 bullpups? (Part Deux)

At a $800ish ticket price, would you buy a 97A bullpup?

It's pinned...

They use a new form of loctite developed for the Chinese space program. The barrel is slipped in and glued. I am sure it will hold fine. You remove it with heat. ;) I really have no idea until I get my hands on one.

At first I thought the barrel was installed using bamboo strapping and a hybrid rice paste, but on closer inspection I found this (the rifle is upside down in this pic)....

That long thing beside the barrel is the trigger bar

Yes I like to keep my rifle really juicy with lube.....

For those who haven't done military duty, this looks very much like a barb-wire/concertina glove. Normally lined on the palm side with metal staples. By looking at their action (advancing on enemy position), it's quite normal (and very good) that one of them is wearing a barb-wire glove.

Now for the canadian civvies byuing a type 97, I actually think this is a valid accessory, since alot of type 97's will used on agricultural lands for hunting groundhogs and coyotes.. the kind of place where you find those damn barb-wires. ;)

If that is the case I'd get one of those gloves cause yes they'd be real useful.

For the record there are variants of the M9 bayonet that have a barb wire cutter set up. :D

I'm kicking myself for selling mine back in 1990. :(

M9 bayonets without the wire cutter ??

If you have a real one ie a M9 without wire cutters you have a VERY rare item considering the M9 bayonets all had it as far as I know. :)

Or just simply import the type 97's with the proper bayonets as well...which would add what a whole $5.00 to the final price tag? :D

Question, I have already asked but never heard anything solid, - QBU88 or otherwise called "sniper" version - any chance to see it here on Canadian soil at reasonable price? With original optics and in 223 caliber? Chris, please, I know you've done many impossible things lately, surprise us one more time with another miracle.

As soon as I get one I will devise a kydex shield/deflector.

If you could modify it to being a soft canvass or mesh brass catcher I'd be in, as I hate crawling around picking up brass at the range.

I have some design ideas based on other types currently in production.
