Would you hide a loan from your wife to buy a gun?

While your at it ask for your sac back!

Ask your wife if its ok to buy a gun?...... lol....

Here's the question: Can you afford it?, if the honest answer is "yes I can pay cash and not be short on any bills or payments" then there is nothing to ask permission for.

The easiest way to hide guns is to only show her 2 at any given time... If you buy black synthetic stocks and blued action/barrel on all the guns, she probably won't be able to notice the difference. You could have 15 stashed away somewhere in the garage, but only ever let her see 2!

Also keep in mind I'm not married and my father (who implemented this rule) has been divorced..

Never a good idea to hide anything from your wife. you do this and then they wonder what else you might be hiding. If you don't have trust in your relationship with her then you don't have a relationship. These days divorces are expensive...is it worth going down that route?

You know why divorces are so expensive ?

because there worth it ! lol jk jk

joke from dukes of hazards

It's not the wifes money... it's not your money.. it's both of your's money do with as you both see fit.. why not just tell her you want to save 80 per cheque to buy something you want then just do it..

They say love is grand but I am here to tell you also, from one wicked bad experience, that DIVORCE is AT LEAST a HUNDRED GRAND.

I wouldn't hide ANYTHING from the wife. $500 barrel bought me my first divorce....dead serious.

My personal experience - my "NEW" wife happily lets me bank $100 every paycheque for my own hobbies (like guns and ammo) and any bonus at work is mine for my toys because it's "extra money" that had no budget plans for it.

BUT - taking out a loan to buy a luxury item would be frowned upon heavily.

Save the money up would be my advice. Loans are only for "NEED" items - not "WANT" items in my opinion.

My wife and I have an allowance each month. That allowance is for us to spend it on absolutely whatever we want. She can buy her shoes, clothes etc... I can spend $1800 on a scope as long as I save up. That's the kicker, you have to save up but it's worth it. I am 100% honest with my wife. After all, a happy wife is a happy life.

Canada Savings Bonds....they can get set up to come straight off your cheque, start small. maybe $20 a cheque. you'll never notice it.
Tell her the truth, you are saving up to buy something special, maybe a rainy day fund for a new rifle unless something more important gets in the way.
Then save save save it all up and wait for it to rain.

Delayed gratification is way better than paying interest.
No lying to the wife, she can know you are doing it and may even forget about it.
Every time I have ever needed that cash to just get it or get me out of trouble ( even with my wife) bang, go online and redeem a bond.
she is wearing some nice bling sponsored by my bonds, but I have a few things too.
best part is when you forget it's year end and have to top up the kids resp's...bingo!!
She'll think you are soooo smart.

and in the end......you win all round.

Fixed it.

ah, should be heddin over to afgan in like 2-3 months anyway. Ill just show her my buddy burtons new rifle you saw earler, the C14 Timberwolf. and be like " that or this ".

youll see boys, The Man will come out on top ;)

If i've learnt anything about hiding something from my partner is that it always backfires, either she finds out and/or I feel really guilty :p

I'd tell her, and if she disagrees, I'd probably wait a week and bring it up again.

I had a girlfriend. I didn't do exactly what she wanted. I don't have a girlfriend anymore. The moral of the story, we don't need to sign the divorce papers and it doesn't cost us a thing. :p

my friend once tore the dishwasher out of the wall and tossed it off the deck into the yard, when his wife was #####ing about how hard she works and that all he did was play with guns, she is a stay at home mom of two kids who are in school, and he works two jobs 12hours a day. im not sure it was the right thing to do, but sure got the point across .

he wanted the washer and dryer to, but there in the basement and i refused to help.. good thing cause i got a cheese cake out of it.

there is a simple check list ,

is the house warm inside .yes

are we starving to death. no

ok then get what makes you happy .

also a good tip is to tell her guns are a better investment then gold , they hold there value more consistently and a $800 gun now is an $800 gun ten years from now. the guy on BNN always says that.
