Would you make this trade?????

If it looks like this, I would trade in a heart beat. Regards, Richard:)

But Lugger does have a good point.... if there is any way to do it, keep the Beretta 92 [as a future trader..lol..] and BUY the Gold Cup. ;)

Heck, you know eventually you will have a safe full of handguns & be asking yourself "how did I get here"... :D

A question I have is what do you want to do with either? Plink, bullseye, one or other gun game? Just drool on preciousss at home? What end use(s) you decide to persue could be helped or hindered by your choice.

You pretty much have nailed the main problem on the head of you need to practice more with whatever one you choose and/or get someone to take the time to evaluate what you are doing right and what you are doing wrong.

Before making the deal, I'd still get someone you trust to go over the 1911 and make sure it isn't shot out and is in good condition. Nothing like trading a new car on a miled out "classic" to give you the warm and fuzzies later when it craps out.

That said, a Beretta will never be a bullseye gun without a lot of work as compared to a 1911 but I find 1911's to be too finicky as compared to a Beretta. As mentioned, ammo costs can be nearly 2x for the .45 over the 9mm.

Or as IM Lugger said, buy the .45 and try both for a while, then skid the one you don't like.

YMMV.

Buy the Colt, get some practice with both, decide which you like better.

I have gone through 7 handguns, trying to find the best fit / function / accuracy for me. The fit, or the perception of fit, can be critical to handgun accuracy, ONCE you know what you're doing.

I would also suggest you get some one on one coaching, if that 15 yard target is typical of your Beretta shooting - No offence intended! Even if it is a Beretta, it should be abe to group better than that!

Cheers,

Neal

Well,
I just got back from the range and I've made big progress with Mr. Beretta. I Think it was the way I held the gun. I think the grips are a bit on the big side for me. Nevertheless, I put much attention on that and all of a sudden things changed. I am forced to keep the 92 and save my pennies for the .45.:runaway:
Tks for all your comments
