Would you sell out?

Would you promote thier products for money?
Absolutely.

Would you promote products if you did not belive in them?
Probably.

What if they wanted you to act like you used product X to get the big one (even if you actualy didn't)
No. I wouldn't lie.

Would you sell the deer head?
Sure but it wouldn't be cheap.

To paraphrase the old joke, "I know what I am. Now we are just negotiating price." :D

I wouldnt have a problem with any of these except for lying about using a certain product. Whats the big deal with keeping the head? If it is the best scoring buck ever then you are gonna have some fame. and isn't hunting all about the experience, excitement and thrill anyway? Sell it all! take the money to fund more hunting trips!

Yes
Yes
Yes Yes and make the cheques payable to GTH........

They can have the head for a huge price, and then i would get a replica made.

As far as products I dont believe in......... I would push any product they want me to if the price is right.

I'm with Gatehouse, I would state anything other than an obvious lie. If I had my Nikon range finder with me, I would say I use a Nikon Rangefinder.
I would likely sell the head, all the antlers I've ever shot are in a pile in my shed except a set of moose ones from this year.

Nothing at all wrong with getting some $$$ for the first rights to publish the story/pics to a magazine like North American Whitetail for instance. Those guys will throw out some decent $$$ for first rights.

As far as selling the antlers I would NOT sell the rack. It might be okay to get a deal where you can sell casts/reproductions of the antlers.

Endorsements? I don't know.

I would enter any record book animal in B&C, P&Y etc...

I would take some money if they wanted to float some my way, cause I would need it to be able to afford to get a nice mount done. Don't think that I would sell it though.

Unless one died of a heart attack right in front of me, I will not have to mull this problem over. I like to find a nice two-year old buck to eat. I could care less about "the big one". Usually (Iknow I'll get flamed over this one!) bigger bucks are smelly and tough. Having said that, I don't fall for the anti's line of, "You'll kill all the big, healthy bucks and leave the scrawny ones to breed" crap. By the time El Bucko is in the B&C book, he has spread a pile of his genes around. I am not trying to make myself out as a hero, just stating the facts.:p :p :p

I would sell the head. In 20 years the head will look like a moth-eaten, dust collecter and likely won't be the biggest anymore anyway.

20 years later, the guns I buy with the money from the head, still have a chance to look brand new and shiney. Ok, a slim chance.;) :D

Ok, it looks like almost everyone would go for money, not suprising.

What about Fame? Would you set out, with the sole intention, to gain fame?

It seems Americans NEED hero's for everything. Even hunting!!?? This is silly to me but you see it all the time, from wanta-be internet hunting hero's to people paying big money to shoot a (basicly) caged animal. And for what? Just for the spot light. Just to be noticed.

I hunt for myself, not for thee gratification from others.
Interesting thing, after some very large deeer made the papers and magazines,
(The McGarvey buck and both of Milo Hansen's last big deer come to mind)
there were all kinds of rumours flying around about both hunters, about the deer being poached etc.
I have heard the same thing about smaller deer also.
As soon as someone shoots something of size, it seems that there are
"experts in the know" that can denounce them as poachers and frauds.
Convicted poachers like Kirk Darner and Loyd McMahon have added fuel to the fire on this subject, so one must be prepared to answer a lot of allegations aftrerwards.

Money makes the world go round, and as long as your pictures and story were being used to promote the values you care about all is good. Consider how you might feel though if the pic of your monster buck ended up in some anti-hunting or anti-gun propoganda. Once the images are sold - all bets are off.
