In our case i would say no---mil-spec made in Israel tavor vs us made bastardized(extended butt stock-kinda ugly) x-95----maybe if we could get the Israel made one but all in all this was made to be more compact which we cant have due to length laws---maybe buy one just to have but definately not sell my mil-spec Israel made tavor----in my opinion

I can't wait to get mine. I allready have a Manticore Arms curved buttpad on the way for it.

And yes I'm selling my Tavor for the X95.

:)

these are commercial gun's not Milspec like the people are saying on gunnutz. left hand bolts will not "Drop in" nothing is interchangeable with a genuine Israeli gun, and they are NOT made in Israel.

I'd have to see what the models we get look like before I could even give you an answer. I'd have to handle it and see some testing before I'd consider it.

Do your homework before making a purchase and you should do just fine when buying a new gun. But please, don’t get too caught up in the whole “if it isn’t mil-spec it isn’t s***” nonsense and avoid becoming one of “them”-but KNOW the facts to base your decision.

2 sides of coin but i would think a mil-spec gun would be more apt to hold a tighter tolerance making it possibly more reliable??but then there have been some sloppy mil -spec ar s in the past -tough call-------as Jarvy said -test --see--fire-then decide----

1- milspec wasn't even a term used with Tavors until North Sylva coined the term to generate sales to clear out their old inventory to prepare for the new US assembled Tavors. Milspec makes sense when talking about AR's where you have 1000's of manufacturers, but with Tavors you only have IWI and Fort.

2- Most US Tavor SAR-21 or x95 parts (specifically all the integral internal components are still Israeli produced, then just assembled state side.

3- the extended buttpad on the x95 is there to meet the US NFA laws to keep the rifle over 26" long. Since our version has a barrel a couple extra inches long we do not require the extended buttpad to meet the minimum OAL of 26", so chances are that if ours do come bastardized we can get a replacement thin buttpad.

As for selling a TAR or SAR to get a x95 (they are all models of Tavor) I would say no, civy x95's dont get a whole lot more compact due to barrel length requirments unless you go restricted. There is also some questionable accuracy results from some of the first US x95 design in the wild. Lastly I find the egos and controls on the TAR/SAR to be very intuitive to new shooters, the mag release and bolt release are very well thought out and make sense to a first timer.

Rolex watches are made to some of the highest standards in the world... They are not mil-spec.

The LSVW is the worst vehicle in the world... It is mil-spec.

The x95 is like any other non-mil spec rifle made in the states. There is nothing wrong with it.

now that makes sense--good info

Don't get your hopes up. US SAR prices didn't even waiver when the x95 launched.

Different market. The SAR was never as popular in the states as the Tavor is in Canada. I'm thinking the CGN price on used tavors is going to go down a bit once the x95 is shipping. If I was stateside I probably wouldn't own a Tavor.
