I am looking for a load for the .223 barrel I plan on getting soon for my encore. Have any of you found the "sweet" load and would you be willing to share the recipe? I want to tweak whatever I get to the best shooting round for my gun but I'm hoping that a good starter from you folks would be a good place to begin because it would have been tried and tested.

I like 27 gr of win 748 with a 52 match HP. I also use for varmits is 23.5 of H322 with a 50gr VMax. That load worked nice. I have a Rem HVSF, it is fussy on loads. I used Varget with the vmax and it shot a 3 inch group. The H322 was .63 inch. The 52 match bullet is a good bullet to start.

A couple of favs of mine:

Rifle: Savage 12 BVSS, 1:9

40 gr V-Max, 26.5 gr H335, 3500+fps, 2.280 COL
<1" @ 100, 2-2.5" @ 200

52 gr HPBT (Sierra), 26.0 gr H335, 3300 fps, 2.280 COL
<1" @ 100, a shade over 1.5" @ 200  :D

Gonna load up some heavies (60-68 gr) soon and see how they do. :)
