You obviously know zip about buck/doe ratios, OR hunting for the fun of hunting and killing game for the meat.
I hunt for MY enjoyment and for some venison, not to brag about how big a buck I shot.
I shoot one white tail a year normally, or one mule deer, I very rarely take one of each , only because I don't need all that meat.
If everybody only shot big bucks the ratio would go out of whack, and inferior bucks would be doing the breeding.
You's best do some reading by people like Dr. Valerius Geist, Charly Kroll, #### Nobel, etc., all hunters BTW.
Maybe you'll learn some important facts about cervid management.

My kids have been along for lots of 140's , and a few in the high 150's , and even a 388 inch 8x8 elk.
The size of an animals rack is a nice to have, but does not make a trophy for me, its the conditions, people I'm with, and safety.
You shoot a duck , do you go darn , its one from this year, or it could be laden like Mr. T , with bands , and be 5 years old. No big fuss on killing the duck in the same year it hatched eh!
You know I think its all Disney's fault. Folks should haul his frozen carcass from wherever . and let the Coyotes at it. :D

But beef is tasteless and venison is soooo good. I hunt for the religious experience and meat is part of my religion!

'Buttons' is sacrilege and must be expunged! Call in the exorcist and purge the demons from your church!
 
like i said its just my opinion
as for keeping the ratio right there is lots of guys who obviously dont mind shooting mr. spiker so i guess theyll keep the ratio right
 
Back in the early 1960's when my old man was hunting whitetails here in Manitoba, one of his crew shot a deer with a cowbell around its neck. It was said to be a real strange thing and even moreso when a couple days later a boy from a nearby dairy farm came asking if anyone had seen his "pet deer" which... you gessed it was wearing a cowbell! Aparently after that the bell and deer hide was burried quickly in a shallow grave. True story!

if the pet dog was wildlife that is owned by the crown, ie: you and me then hell yeah I would shoot it. anyone that thinks they can own something that is the property of everyone should be shot themselves.

wildlife is for everyones enjoyment, not just the enjoyment of some selfish SOB.

Its just a deer. I've shot a buck smaller then that, and would do it again. deer do nothing for me, burger with 4 hooves.

Im saying there are a few reasons not to shoot buttons with teh taped up antlers (not cuz hes a deer, believe me I dont care about a deer)
1. he is TINY
2. he is someones pet (maybe alittle girl or boy)
3. another spiker isnt that hard to come by so go get a diffrent one if you must
4. if you want meat shoot a doe (theres tons of em)

4. welcome to BC, Doe seasons rather few. (that pic is from region 7A, we have no doe season (for non-youth hunters))

and as for work my wife can tell you how much i work and it is more often than not (its just that i get to travel through alot of hunting areas while working)

no but it goes to show that I know the exact same about the animal as you do..... sweet F U C K ALL.

so don;t try and impose what you invision about this animal.... if it is legally hunted then so be it, the animal is just as much mine as it is yours. wildlife is owned by the crown and owned by the people, not just one greedy person.
