Would you shoot corrosive ammo thru ur M14 / M305 ?

What do you think? Is it worth the cleaning hassle? If so, who does it and what do I need to know about cleaning the gas system.

Get the tools to clean it. Don't put anything there other than
cleaning rod specifically designed to clean it.
Don't remove it from the barrel.

I have been using the chinese 308 ammo in my m14 nor for years and it takes the abuse with no problem. Does anyone know if this ammo was loaded for the chinese m14 rifles? This ammo seems to be mildly corrosive.

I would think you would need to be more careful cleaning the M14/M1A/M14s/M305 after shooting corrosive ammo. The gases shoot down through the front of the stock rather than just into the upper handguard on the SKS.

Not a lot of people are willing to completely strip a receiver/barrel from the stock for cleaning.

Do you own an M14?

Its easy as heck to clean.

Pop trigger guard out and wham the reciever/barrel is away from the stock.
