This clip has been floating around for a while, It's a canned hunt,I am pretty sure in the clip I have you can see fence, also a power/telephone pole. On a canned hunt and can't shoot to boot, I'm cheering for the lion, though the out come never seems to change. The clip is just proof that the gene pool needs some chlorine.

That lion had no where to go. Bad first shot. Lots of follow ups with shooting within the group (more afraid of being shot at that point). Would seem that the guides didn't 'stop' that charging lion. Considering that many misses were no where near the lion, wonder what the shooters were trying to stop.

Personally, I was routing for the Lion. A truly beautiful animal. Too bad the hunt wasn't fair chase. Lucky no one got mauled or shot.

This is the sort of video that the anti's would love to promote. I certainly wouldn't use it as a marketing vid.

Come out with us for super big dollars. We will run an animal into a corner where you, me and a bunch of people can take pot shots at it and each other, try not to get mauled, and slap each other on the back when it is well and truly swiss cheesed.

How nice! I would definitely be more worried about one of the bluebloods shooting me than about the lion mauling me. Woman in background, "Are you okay? Are you okay?" "No. I've just **** myself!, Now get some toilet paper, quick!" These people almost (almost) make the likes of Paul McCartney look smart.

Nothing beats killing some kitty turned loose from a zoo, or animal farm
Kinda like shooting a cow in a farmers field.
Could try making it a fair fight, and using a knife, rather than a rifle.

LOOOOOK OUT!!! He's gonna charge.....

Since you can't eat, or at least won't eat a Lion/Cougar/Tiger, why hunt it?

It is definitely surprising that no one managed to get shot. I was particularly impressed how the cat picked on the shooter that gave the first poor shot.

You can eat it, and many do, I don't agree with the scenario in the video but just because you can't eat something is reason enough to not hunt it.

Many people hunt creatures of all kinds with no intention of eating them, doesn't make them bad!!!

That was some piss poor shooting. The head or spine shot at the end was not bad though. Whats the movie with the lions atacking a work crew in some place in africa? One guy kills one with one shot from a 303... than wile bragging, one of the locals said he killed one with his bare hands(later gets eaten lol).

I believe you are thinking of "The Ghost and the Darkness". Based on a true story...

Thats not even hunting. Too bad the lion didnt mess him up.

Wierdos like that company give every hunter a bad name.

I agree. I like hunting, but hunting in a cage... A Lion on top of that.

Deer, moose, elk, rabbit, you name it and I am fine with that. I just have a problem with shooting a Lion. My freinds and I we whant to hunt a bear this spring and I would probably not eat that meat(I will try it). But we will make shure that someone will take the meat before going hunting.

Is this video a promo for a hunting compagny? This looks like a Don't do with fire arms video. lucky no one got kill.

I Second that.....

That's not hunting. Four goofs stumbling around shooting up the countryside. Do it right, learn about bullet placement, have confidence in your weapon and yourself. I was rooting for the lion. Yes,I've been there, except it was a wounded grizzly, not a lion that someone else shot. It looked like a gamefarm outing to me.

This clip has made it around for discussion several times. It may of been a canned hunt, but a fence line on a South African farm is not necessarily indicative of that. Canned hunt or not, I believe those hunters were in true danger. Would I want to be there - hell yes! As to what some say is poor shooting - lets examine that. A lion running flat out covers 25 yards in about 2 seconds, chances are no one could make that shot unless they had lots of practice on targets moving directly towards him, or dropped to one knee to put the trajectory of the bullet in line with the lion. Fear also creeps into the situation and interferes with the hunter's problem solving abilities, after all, a lion is one of the most efficient killers on the planet. I think they were lucky to come away with no one being seriously injured. What impressed me the first time I watched this, is that after the action, the group seemed pretty relaxed considering what had just happened. I think that speaks volumes for the type of people they are.

Just because there is a fence does not mean that it's canned all hunting farms there have fences and some farms are divided into camps each hunter being alotted a camp to hunt which minimizes the chance of folks shooting each other by acident.
Most canned hunts now days I have been told they had the Lions Tranquilized this cat obviously wasn't.
Canned hunting is agains the law, do you thnk that they would post this vid online if it was a canned hunt?

Do you mean legal like that post of a video that had a guy in a black mask with a full auto 10/22 ? :) Just because it is illegal in SK does not mean it's like that everywhere :).
