Took this pic two years ago. I had no bull tag. Would you drive him between the hams?? The cow is in front as you can see. This was 50 yards.

That's not a good "texas heart shot" becuase his hips are a bit turned, too much chance of deeflection .
I may, depending on how far away I was , go for the hump or neck, but i would likely give him a grunt and see if he turned.
The cow, however, is in a bad spot and could get hhit.

nope, i would try to make a cow call and see if he turns to look.

i wouldn't shoot him in the a$$, too much good meat back there.

Shoot him in the ear!!!!

Seriously tho, I tried that shot on a whitetail running from me going for the back of the head, and he jumped the fence as I pulled the trigger and the bullit went thru a ham. It still tore thru him and killed, but I lost A LOT OF MEAT. And to top it off he was missing most of the left antler too. I was really mad at myself. I almost wanted to just leave him there...almost.

Not a chance - It's a bad low percentage shot with an excellent opportunity to wound and ruin a lot of meat not to mention hit the cow behind. Waiting a few more minutes would probably produce a much better shot. Wait for it.

Me neither!
To much investment into moose hunting now days to roll over!
Course where I used to hunt you could NEVER get a bull tag!
But if I did & at 50yds, if he hesitated for one second... my 150gn .280 would slip one right across his back & low into the back of his head.
