That's not a good "texas heart shot" becuase his hips are a bit turned, too much chance of deeflection .
I may, depending on how far away I was , go for the hump or neck, but i would likely give him a grunt and see if he turned.
The cow, however, is in a bad spot and could get hhit.
Cat
Catnthehatt has it right. One or two soft grunts would almost certainly get that bull to look back over his shoulder, and then your biggest worry will be how far it is back to the truck
Seriously tho, I tried that shot on a whitetail running from me going for the back of the head, and he jumped the fence as I pulled the trigger and the bullit went thru a ham. It still tore thru him and killed, but I lost A LOT OF MEAT. And to top it off he was missing most of the left antler too. I was really mad at myself. I almost wanted to just leave him there...almost.
If i was standing on his right side, and it was last day of season, i would no doubt put one in the neck or head, But not a great shot overall by no means!!
Not a chance - It's a bad low percentage shot with an excellent opportunity to wound and ruin a lot of meat not to mention hit the cow behind. Waiting a few more minutes would probably produce a much better shot. Wait for it.
Me neither!
To much investment into moose hunting now days to roll over!
Course where I used to hunt you could NEVER get a bull tag!
But if I did & at 50yds, if he hesitated for one second... my 150gn .280 would slip one right across his back & low into the back of his head.
