WOW: 6 mmBR

Thank you everyone.

This rifle is really new, complete in middle jan-10,
I just shoot it once, when the weather was not too cold,
on a day of 0 degree cel.
I shot about 35 rounds.

100 yds, I have 2 or 3 groups of 5 shots, of 1|4 inche.
with my first load.( 105 lapua, 30 grs Varget)
This gun is really easy to shoot.

(The gunsmith is from Québec.)
Take care
Alain

Alain, That is one nice looking rifle!!!!

Nice to see a true precison rifle in this forum for a change!!

Cheers,

Ian

Ian,
no matter how proud I am when I get my shillen barrel from Jerry and my stock from SSS for my stevens 200, I promise not to post it on this forum. :D:D

Not much talk about the 6ppc here. If that was only to be shot 300 yards and under and it was a 1 in 14 twist and a ppc (or br) with 68 grain bullets would you expect the groups to be different... ??

Not by much, PPC is margionally better than my BR. Both shoot fantastic but a PPC won't reach out to the long yardages like a BR. They are still fantastic at 300 though.

(I was feeding mine 70 gr Bergers) ((sorry peter, laff))

PPC is the paradigm of short range accuracy. As you say, a 13.5 or a 14 twist shooting flat based bullets from a 237 bore and it is unsurpassed for accuracy. The BR is a very close second, but the PPC is ever so slightly better.

I am sure the PPC can do very well at 300, but they have been beaten by BR's at every ISSF match I've been to anyway. Likely do to the intervals between shots, and not being able to capitalize on one condition. The BR with its high BC bullets is better in wind.

Ian, I used my PPC at last years Sierra 300 yard match and did quite well with it. I got beat by a guy that shot straight. I dropped 2 bulls out of 60 for Second.(my fault, 2 brain farts)

basically... I've heard of it being done (In fact Aubrey... you had a friend that built such a creature with an old barrel of mine if I'm not mistaken) but while it had good accuracy, it topped out about 2700 fps.
