I had no hesitations and ordered one immediately. I rather hope the grips aren't the original Toks, I find the angle rather odd...but who cares really, it's a budget blaster and will be a lot of fun. Had a 7.62 Nork Tok before and made a mistake by letting it go...

Any pimped tok plans out there?

I have been looking for some pics but have come back empty handed.

Cool.

I have a knife with that coating. Its pretty slick. I like it.

I wonder if it would be cost effective here?

The 9mm Tok cannot be switched to 7.62x25 but the 7.62 Toks can go to 9mm.

This frame might not accept 7.62 magazines.

As Deckard said the 213 will not be able to shoot 7.62.

Some of us would like to know why, and are not satisfied by what you and Deckard have said. Sources? First-hand experience?

Is it because the 9mm magazine doesn't accomodate the longer 7.62x25 rounds? The solution is to buy another mag. The 7.62x25 and 9mm mags I have are identical in all respects except for their internals. Maybe I'm mistaken.

If there are feeding issues, that can be dealt with.

The extractor? Same thing.

From what I've googled, it seems either there is a piece in the mag to remove, or else from inside the mag well, at the rear.

The barrel bushing might need to be swapped, and the ejection port is too short to eject a loaded 7.62x25mm(cured by dropping the mag, and letting it fall out the mag well). This isn't the gospel, only what I've found on google, and I plan on finding out eventually. Oh, I noticed the extractor problem mentioned as well, it sits out too far?? I should have bought the 9/7.62 Tok:D

So it seems that this model is purpose built for 9mm and not a modified 7.62x25 (like the 54-1). That would explain the challenges to convert to the longer 7.62x25. Strange approach when there's already all that tooling for 7.62x25.

I bought the type 54 without the add-on safety from Marstar, it's solid built, it shoots well, but the finish is very rough, I have to pay attention to avoid cutting my finger when I handle it. I think it's a must to refinish it.

This design has been around since at least the 1940's Millions were made in 7.62x25, it's a Soviet 1911 built like a brick sh*thouse.

What's not to like about something designed to survive use and maintenance by illiterate Soviet peasant conscripts, with a proven record for killing Nazis? I hear they even make good field expedient hammers, and the recoil from 7.62X25mm is greatly exaggerated.
