Wow....$99 pistol....Norinco M213

Took mine to the range yesterday. Finished a box (50) of Winchester 115 gr factory ammo. with one miss-feed. Same miss-feed happened on a CZ 85. Before the range, I cleaned the excess grease off the gun and smooth out the rough edges with fine wool.
 
I've had mine for a week and finally got it out to the range today (had to shovel my way in!). It's quite the jammomatic, I think it stovepipes so much in honour of the winter chill (a little furnace humour there:D). I put 100 rounds through it and had 15 jams. It has a peculiar favorite jam where the spent brass lands exactly backwards in the ejection port (more than half of my jams were this one). The trigger is incredibly heavy, not gritty at all, and virtually no travel. It's so heavy that a couple times I stopped mid pull because I thought that I had left the safety on. The pistol is as accurate as I can hold it. I'm not an accomplished pistol shooter by any stretch, but I could make 2-3" groups at 12 yards when I did my part. I found that it was sighted fairly close, it was centred and hit 2" low at 7 and 12 yards.

Overall I don't think it was a bad purchase considering the price point. I'll keep screwing around with it and maybe it'll get better as I blast away.

Are you getting a Hi-Point from Kodiak, BTW? :)
 
It was posted back on top of page 6 if the M213 took 9mm luger ammo. Well the answer was yes.

Ok now here is the stupid question:
I did not know there was different types of 9mm ammo. I thought 9mm was 9mm. Sorry as I am VERY new to Pistol shooting. Also what is the best grain of bullet to get? Thanks

Not getting a Hi-Point. I may be cheap enough to embarrass a Scotsman, but I do have some pride :D Besides, they only come with one mag and cost far too much!

Not a stupid question at all, and it's a good thing you asked. 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, and 9x19 NATO are all identical and they will work in your pistol. There are a few other 9mms out there (9x18 makarov, 9x21 etc. etc.) but they aren't nearly as common as the 9mm you want. If you simply walk into the gun shop and ask for a box of 9mm you'll get the correct stuff. I suggest trying a few different bullet weights, but 115 grain is more common and a great place to start.

I've found most of my 9mms dont like 115gr, and like 124 and 147 a lot more.... could also be that all the 115 i've shot is winchester white box, but I tend to get a lot of stovepipes when I use 115, never have issues with the higher weights. (when my M213 shows up, I'll just be starting with 124 or 147 off the bat)
 
Well I ordered on Dec. 21st & mine arrived today! Looks good for a $99 gun. Seems to feed ok. Trigger is not bad either. Slide is a little hard to pull back. I will post a range report soon.

Ah, got mine, slide is gritty and the trigger not so bad. Interesting modular design of the hammer & sear assembly. Those little freeken screws added to the frame with the safety are finger killers, needless to say those buggers are gone. Seems to be some surface rust inside, or at least some kind of brown stain in the metal, might be from that Chinese toxic chemical oil they use.

Anybody know if a full length recoil spring guide exists for this thing??

Looks very neat for a 99$ gun, happy so far. Looking forward to a range test.

Note: Just reading the manual is worth 99$ of LOL

Hey guys, got mine today and i just got back from the range. I can honestly say its the best $99 ive spent in a long time. Its fit and finish arent very good, but for the price what do you expect. Anyways at the range, i shot 50 rounds of Federal ammo, and i did not have a single FTF. No problems shooting it. First shot i half expected it to blow up in my hand, but it shot very well. I actually had a lot of fun shooting it. I shot my glock 22 after and it didnt seem like as much fun, i think i have to sell it now, any takers? haha, but honestly very accurate, it shot where i aimed. I dont know if i got lucky and got a good one, but it had no problems, and i shot it at 5 and 7 meters and it was very accurate, all shots were on target.

I bought 2 so my #### wouldnt fall off, and i havent unpacked the other one yet, but the one i did is awesome, lots of fun to shoot, accurate, and no feeding problems whatsoever. Awesome buy thanks CanAm
