all these damn $99 pistol orders slow down all other orders. I've been waiting and waiting for my 1911A1. Inquired and been told that they are overloaded with the $99 pistol orders so things take time. Perhaps, while I am waiting, I should pick up a few myself. How many did they get in stock??? Thousands of them??

If you can not beat em...join em!:D

I picked mine up today from the post office.
Sure was soaked in oil, so got a good take-apart and cleaning right away.

Couple things I noticed, haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. First, the damn safety is STIFF, and in a crappy spot. It can't easily be flicked into the fire position with the shooting hand's thumb. Anyone else notice this or do I just need to develop uber ninja backwards bending thumb skills? (Better yet, I wont' use it, it's not like my other one has a safety on it.)

It is also quite stiff to rack, the slide isn't near as smooth as my WW2 era Tokarev. I'm guessing I can chalk that up to breaking it in and getting the rough bits smoothed out.

Other than that, I'm very impressed and can't wait to get it out to the range.

I think the most amusing part of today was reading through the user manual that Norinco clearly used some college student learning English to write LOL.

This is my highlight! Number 6....LOL, WTF??? :D

I got mine on Wednesday, cleaned it up, took to the range on Saturday and I'm very dissapointed with it. I put 100 rd of combatmasters FPJ and 50 rd of Blaser Brass FMJ. with the combatmasters I was getting a failure to feed every few rounds, sometimes every round, the Blaser was a little less bad. The rounds were stopping half way out of the mag and the tip was just bellow the feed ramp.
Did any body else have that problem, could it be the ammo or the mags?
When it did work it was very accurate.

I had mine to the range 2 weeks ago 50 in Remington UMC 115g and 50 rounds of American Eagle 124g. Never had one jam the whole time. Maybe i just got lucky I really had no issues at all. I just ordered two extra mags from lever arms so we will see how those feed.

Slyder73 my safety was also very stiff, I found it not to bad to operate. My slide was also very stiff but as i mentioned it all worked out very very good at the range.

I had the same problem. I opened up the barrel feed ramp on both sides ever so slightly and polished it as well. It now works well with all ammo. I am now pleased with my M213.

Same problem here. I was using Win Clean.
I too polished the feed ramp when I got home from the range but haven't had a chance to shoot the gun since.
Do like I do. Count the successful shots only and you'll be happy. :D :D :D

How and with what should I polish the feed ramp. This sounds like a job for the Dremel. I don't want to screw things up and make it worst. Hopefully when my other one shows up it will work better.

Would you then want to get one of those kits for touching up the blueing and go over any bits you've had to open up and polish and smooth? One would think sanding off bits of gun would leave it more vulnerable to rust?

The polishing is done, I smothed out the feed ramp on the frame and on the barrel. There was a little bur on the barrel feed ramp, I managed to scrape it off with the side of a flat head screwdriver. Every thing was polished with 1000 grit sand paper and alot of elbow grease, I cycled a few full mags through by hand, fast and slooow, not a single problem.

Once again thanks Teapot.

Ordered Jan 4 --just got 1 couple of days ago (ordered 2) called CFC CANAM has not started the 2nd one yet ( even thou I was told they would be shipping both together 2 weeks ago)
Worth the money thou got it out o the range 150-200 rounds only a couple FTF

Use a bit of 1,000 or 2.000 grit automotive wet/dry paper, wrap it around your finger or just roll it up and do the ramp on the barrel and ramp on the frame. Mine turned out as shiny as a mirror.

After you're done with the front side of the 2000 flip it over and using a bit of light oil polish it some more with the back side of the paper. It's mildy abrasive and will produce a shine that you can comb your hair in.

Mine went in the mail today. I am looking forward to seeing what this thing looks like. I have a Russian one and just thought this one would be neat to have for $99.
