Bought a blunderbuss on gunbroker for $400.00 plus $75.00 shipping +$65.00 customs fees when it arrived it was a modern ornamental fake probably made in India i would say it's worth about $20.00-$30.00.i thought it didn't look right when i bid but the seller had almost 400 positive feedback's with no negatives no i bid anyway.(should have known better)item#375364842
anyway he has a money back 3 day inspection so I'm not too worried about it yet, except that he's not answering any emails from me.

anyone else return anything and know if it's possible to get my customs fees back.or what else i should do to protect myself i cant
file a fraud report for 30 days.

If paid by credit card, do a reversal

Custom fee's have an appeal process. You would have to contact CBSA for this process

Did he have anything in the description to indicate it was real, or fake. That would be a major "blunder" pun intended for a 400 feedback person to sell a gun that doesnt work. But at the same time perhaps they have never used black powder before and have no real idea. Could be an honest mistake (long shot)

This was his description

Have you tried to contact Gunbroker? Think they are in Atlanta.......not sure how that works but might be something on their site about contacting them. Good luck getting it sorted out; probably not easy with an International border in between.

I assume it was from the US, and I know from a close friend there are some very important phrases when selling things on flea bay or anywhere else for that matter....the sellers ad must mention something to the fact the item is being "as is" or the buyer can legally go after him claiming they thought item was original like new. Not sure if this helps you or not? Also contacting your CC holder to file a dispute would be a good idea....if you used a CC to pay for it that is?

On there website it says i have to wait 30 days since the auction ended before filing a fraud report and not more than 60 days it also says there insurance will cover $300 of the $400

he would only take a M/O

he would only take a M/O

To me that is not a good sign because I think he knew it can not be contested or reversed. Where as a lot of honest sellers no longer want M'O's as they can be counterfeit and yet look like the real deal. Sorry to say but I think you were scammed.....hopefully I am wrong and you can get it resolved and your money back....good luck with it.

Are you allowed to post this user's name here so that the rest of us know not to ever deal with him? That is if he does not resolve this in a timely and appropriate fashion.

Its a sad representation of a blunderbuss. I am sorry to say you got robbed.
Next time you might want to get a knowledgeable friend to give you a second opinion before you bid.
