WOW I have some great new for my fellow CGNZ. I posted here about 18 months ago that I was in need of help to get out hunting again as I am a paraplegic. There were several offers to build the gun rest for my chair, BUT of all those offers (5 or 6) there was a young man in Toronto who said he will do it for me at no charge. See there are still good people out there!

That is awesomeness, glad to hear that someone not only followed through with his word but was resolute enough to do it from the heart. Glad you have the will and courage to continue the things you love. All the best.
 
If you every need a hunting buddy let me know, I could sure use a mentor in helping me get started as a hunter.
 
Ive found throughout life that the cummunity of shooters is the most welcoming and giving cummunity. Sure there are clicks that are snobs but most are just great caring ppl. Glad it worked out for you and hope youre able to harvest game. If youre around my area let me know if you need a hand gutting and dragging an animal out. Im between windsor and london
 
Good for you man!! I am happy that your going to experience hunting in whatever form it has to take.

Two thoughts come to mind immediately when I read this thread...first was that it's to damn bad were 2000 miles apart as my immediate yard & house would work excellent for a wheel chair hunt...very few days in a year that a single deer or a dozen don't mosey thru the yard and the house makes an excellent "blind"...warm and lots of visibility in all directions.

The second though was ...the news every night is full of stories where a family helped a starving dog or someone picked up a wounded bird or ordinary people doing a good deed for every drug addicted fool on the streets...but we hear crickets when someone does a good deed to a quadriplegic shooter with a gun...maddening..
