Now you know where to sell your stuff; if you want the good stuff exported south that is.

A seller can ask whatever he/she wants. It's the buyers option whether or not they want to pay it. A smart shopper will do a little research and see what fair market value should be.

Joe only pays .30 cents on the dollar or so, if your selling to him. He’s been buying estate collections in Atlantic Canada for years, and exporting the best pieces to the U.S.

Your right on the mark there. You only have to look at the differences on what he's selling between his US site and his Canadian site.

I've never understood whining about prices. If you think it's too high, don't buy it. If a seller can get people to pay high prices, good for him. If you pay too high a price, too bad for you. It's called a "market" for a reason.

I haven't dealt with him for yrs, but did buy some very nice pieces from him in the early '90s incl 1950 vintage LBs, Rem-Rand M1911A1, Inglis Browning, and a M1917 Colt revolver. His prices were a tad high, but the quality was good.

If he's screwing people, he should be called out...and I think we can agree $100 for a No4MkI sling is ridiculous. Yes, the market dictates, yes, it's the buyers prerogative to purchase but if the seller can't explain why his mark-up is ten fold what an item is actually worth then his practices should be exposed.

OP, you're not missing anything. Last I checked the sling (which they made hundreds of thousands of) was worth anywhere from $10-$25 depending on condition.
