all matching (except for bayo.) appears unissued but for sure fired.
barely a mark or ding on it.:D:D:D

looks great, but it seems that you lost the cleaning rod during all the action... :D

went to the range today and tested it, accuracy was outstanding.

BTW how did you remove the front barrel band? mine is seriously stuck and I am unable to remove it.

Ya,i forgot to screw the rod back in when i took the after pics.
To remove the front barrel band, you compress the pin on the right side as you tap out the
Band with a piece of wood.
Trick, use a brass punch or steel punch and push in the pin(actually a bent flat spring)
As you tap forward the barrel band.

I had trouble with the front trigger guard screw.the lock screw was o.k. to remove but that front screw was in there good and tight.i finally got it--it unscrewed witha loud SNAP.

I got a couple of nice pdf's of of mauser.com(or something like that).
That was very helpfull...

.... let commie yugo junk for East Europeans to feed their nostalgia.;)
... but it depends which East-Euros. Romanians?
As far as I know, they didn't have Yugos.
If you know sumpin different, please post link.
The Romanian-used bolt action was called (popular) ZB,
and that stands for Zbrojovka Brno,
and NOT for Zastava Belgrade how I once found on the net.
That ZB made for Romania was one
of the finest, purest piece of Czech VZ24.
I don't know much about the the Yugo 48, but
it is losely based on both VZ24 and some FN design-
- Model 1924 + M24 --> M48 (all 3 of them
also fine examples of Mauser variants).

Just got mine this morning in the mail! A tad messy with cosmoline and styrofoam, but looks to be in very nice shape.:D

Those look mighty fine! Mine should be coming in tomorrow. Would brake cleaner be a good solution to degreasing this gun? or is it too harsh?

Maybe its time to review cosmoline removal again! I've got one coming from P&S and it looks like getting that stuff off is going to be something else....I know this has been hashed over a bunch of times but I was thinking simple green and shop towels to get the first inch off. I'm not sure what brake cleaner might do to the stock. I assume to get it all off you have to disassemble the rifle anyway.
