$6500 is a retarded amount. I wouldn't pay $200 to have 'engraving' like that. If it was metal work, and I had won the lottery, and I wanted a Weatherby... MAYBE. Ornate wood on a hunting rifle is downright dumb, in my humble opinion.

It's not even that nice!

Personally, I cringe whenever I hear the weatherby name. That rifle, IMO, is the epitome of all things ugly and backwards in a hunting rifle. That piece of poo, makes me want to puke.

Looks like someone decided that putting ketchup on cornflakes was a good idea...

Not my taste, but if they like it, more power to them.

if you like it and can afford it go for it. some guys think stainless and matte black is ugly...i don't but i also don't care what they think, and i wouldnt care what people thought if i loved that weatherby.

People on the net put too much concern into what the other forum guys are going to think of their setups...

I have seen very few rifles that were that pimped out look good. If this were a presentation rifle, or a prize, or a rifle built for a charity auction, basically strictly for display, I could maybe see it. The pictures were too crappy to see any kind of metal engraving, so I can't comment on that. The stock looks like a lazermark stock gone really bad.

My beef is not the rifle itself, but the sheer arrogance that spews from that ad - And yet, a cellphone camera was used to take pictures. Sorta takes away from the value of the item, doesn't it? ;)

Maybe the owner has big, fat swollen hands and a big, fat, puffy, marshmallow face. Hence the modified grip and cheek rest features.

Kinda reminds me of Joan Rivers. They did a whole lot of work on something not worth it, just to make it worse. Shuuuuudddddeeeerrrr.

Well, The work is stunning, it's just that much work could have been done on three rifles that would have looked great, not piled onto one to look foppish. AS a collectors piece it would have value, but isn't something I would take afield or justify owning. Even the weight of the wood would put it at around 13lbs+
I'd rather buy a custom shop 460wm with mesquite stock or something that means something. Mesquite stocks are abnormally strong and withstand the 460 recoil well, but weigh less than walnut or cherrywood by a bit. They are also the more rare Weatherby rifles. I like old weatherby rifles, but my budget keeps me from owning anything excessive or stupid.
