Wow, when is enough to much.

Is this rifle too ornate?

Each to their own I guess but it's much too ornate 'frilly' for my taste. I like a 'little bit' of fancy, especially nicely figured wood grain and nice checkering, but that's it. Again, if you like, buy it. It'd be sad if we all liked the same.

Yes - each to their own - the people who like that kind off carving and style may not like your rifle either.

I have seen with certain individuals that once you have owned all the rifles there are or that you want (these individuals can own anything and hunt anything at any time they want - they are usually avid hunters with no lack of funds) - you start to look for something different. A rifle becomes more an art form than a shooting device. You may own 100's of those normal rifles but you ony have a few special pieces of art.

Do they shoot them? maybe - do they care ? no

Sometimes these art rifles are stunning in their beauty, but sometimes they go in a wierd direction. Kinda like a Harley with wierd paint - there are some who like it.

Must Have

I am in the process of purchasing it presently.

Should go well with my purple trousers and cowboy boots.

Pics will follow.

Personally, I cringe whenever I hear the weatherby name. That rifle, IMO, is the epitome of all things ugly and backwards in a hunting rifle. That piece of poo, makes me want to puke.

Pretty much, they have always been hideous to me, but hey...

Ya - my crappy .300 Weatherby has been with me for 35 years and has killed more game in more places under more conditions then most can imagine.

After all these years and soooo many other rifles - it is still my go to rifle.

That's funny - I cringe when I hear "Remington rifle"....
- like I said -- to each his own.......

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
This is not a hunting rifle,it is a statement.
Like a bright red Hummer in a wealthy suberb I guess.

Some have to have it.

When I first saw the pictures, I was vaguely troubled. Then it came to me. Something's missing! Where are the contrasting black and white spacers between the recoil pad and the butt stock? It really is just not quite there without that final, Weatherby pièce de résistance.

I personally find that Weatherby a bit over the top for my tastes but as they say "Whatever floats your boat".

At least someone didn't take a dremel tool to the action to produce some "custom" engraving ............ cp:
