Any one else have this,
I bought a brand new out of the box, still wrapped in the pack. VX3 3.5x10 x40mm with a boone and Crocket ret....
nice scope no issues.

Get it home and i was having a look at it and noticed the gold ring has vx 3 6x24x50mm stamped on it. Obviously a factory screw up... I emailed the dealer late last night, obviously i havent heard from him yet...

options??

I got it for a decent price and i am not worried about it matching the scope, i plan to hang on to this one for awhile.

thanks

As far as I know Leupold does not make a 6x24x50 scope. Could you post a photo of this? Are you sure it's not a fake? Contact Korth Group in Okotoks as they are the distributor. Phil.

They do make a 6.5-20 X 50 in the LRT series, but you are right: No 6-24X50.....and 50mm markings on a 40mm OB ring? I'd be checking it out for authenticity really freakin fast.

Very unnerving these days how imitation items are making it to the public who do believe they are genuine items. The imitations are getting very hard to spot also.

Rifles scopes, ok that's one thing, I did see something about carabiners that were fakes and almost impossible to tell, now that is scary.

High end watches are the #1 fake............Rolex,etc. Extremely hard to spot a fake, you pretty much have to take it to a jeweller who knows his s**t.

All stuff I've read on fake Leupolds has been the Mark 4's and prismatics. Also, none of the fakes had the gold ring. This could well be a genuine factory error.
I'd bet the ring says "6.5-20x40", not "6x24x40" as originally posted. It should also have the "B&C" logo on the side of the center scope section, as he mentioned it has that reticle.

sorry it did say 6.5 x20 my bad, the dealer whom will remain name less, said i could return it and he would send me off a new one to replace it, i will call leupold and check to make sure it is legit... and go from there... all the documents in the box. I own several leupolds and if this was a fake i am sure i would know something was up. Even all the documents and such are the same as every scope i have bought over the last year.

It takes two minutes to call leupold with the s/n. I always get the s/n when buying used on the EE to make sure I'm not buying a pig in poke. When I do encounter one, it is usually some poor guy who got snookered and had no idea that he had purchased a fake and really thought he was selling a genuine Leupold. If it is a fake, your "dealer" has some 'splaing to do.

If it is real I'd say keep it, if you can get a free replacement for it, then I would send it in but only after youve worn it out first.
