Ws mcr 7.62 by 39

Quite the scathing review.
The whole point to the 7.62x39 design is the benefit of that taper to aid extraction. I'd start with polishing out that chamber, and maybe have a competent gunsmith chase it with a finish reamer if they are still having problems.

The fella with the vest says right around 2:15 in that "it didn't really fix a whole lot".

I think they were referring to the stuck chamber problem. Later on in the video, they recommended getting at either the adjustable gas block or rifle length gas system if you were willing to deal with the chamber problem.

Question, I don’t wanna derail this topic, but does anyone have an idea where to find one of these for sale? Let alone find just an upper for sale?

I don't think anyone has done a review of the True North Arms upper and lower in a complete rifle yet. If you can't find any MCR or WK in 7.62x39 mm for sale, TNA has all the WK parts available to make a 7.62x39mm WK with an adjustable gas block and rifle length port on the barrel. You could get them to make you a complete 7.62x39 mm rifle with their new upper and lower, requesting they dial the gas to your standard ammo if possible, and give us a community review :)

Alternatively, if you have parts from a prohibited rifle sitting around, Sylvestre will be bringing in Jard J180 kits with larger bolt faces for 7.62x39 mm. This rifle uses a gas tube to impinge the 180 bolt carrier, so any length of gas tube port can be used with an adjustable gas block. Not sure what the ETA on the large faced kits are; they focused on .556 to take advantage of those safe queens first.

Man Ustauk you’re all over these threads with helpful info
Appreciate your comment man, thanks eh
I emailed tna back in the summer asking about an MCR x39 upper, was told to hold they were working on something
Probably their lower
I’ll email and just have them build me a full rifle…just wanted something to swap uppers quickly on my spec180 lower
Ah well

I would ask TNA to try their WK upper on an MCR lower.
If it works, their WK upper may also work on the Spec 180.

Yes, probably.
So what I'm saying is that if they are getting stuck cases after 80 rounds of dirty, steel cased surplus, they could very well have a problem with their chamber, so even if they cranked up the gas being directed to the piston, that would likely only mask the underlying issues (with the chamber).

I would agree. My WK180C in 7.62x39 has run through 400 rounds in a single range session with no issues

Has their been any word on whether a TNA upper will run on an MCR lower?

No info on that yet. I didn’t specifically ask that question, my question to them was when will an actual Mcr upper in x39 be a reality. They said something like December for their barrels to come in, I left it at that because I sent off a few emails and posted in their main thread a few times asking if they can do a x39 upper for me, 4 times I think?

Hey guys,
Was out to the range today and put cheap chinese tuna can corrosive surplus through my 7.62 MCR, as well as new production norinco steel cased and barnaul. There were no stuck casings or malfunctions of any kind (excepting 3 light primer strikes on the surplus, which when rechambered did fire) through roughly 200 rounds of corrosive chinese and a couple mags of the barnaul and new norc. I would like to mention that I bought this rifle used and the previous owner reported ~1000 trouble free barnaul through it. Other notes about this particular rifle is that the trigger is a geissele and I used 4 XCR pistol mags.
Hope this helps anyone considering this rifle, would HIGHLY recommend only running corrosive in large doses since the cleanup was a major pain, especially the gas piston system.

Barnaul is fine, but 1000 rds after, expect thick carbon.
