Hi all, I've seen a couple threads asking about the WS-MCR in 7.62x39 but many focus on reliability, the difference between it and the WK180C etc.

I'd really like to hear what sort of accuracy you have been achieving and with what sort of ammo/optic.

I'm on the verge of picking one up, but in particular I'd like to know how ti will do with surplus, cheaper ammo as there's no point to it for me if it can't use this ammo when I already have a 5.56 semi auto.

would you please explain how to take the gas block off , is it really needed in order to clean the gas system? thanks I would appreciate the help

Kinda tangentially related to this, can anyone confirm if you could run a 6.5 Grendel or 6mm ARC on a 7.62x39 bolt? I know earlier Grendels (in ARs)were done like that but there were some bolt issues and the "Type-2" Grendel bolt has a deeper recess, I believe? These rifles, being that they already have to have "long" barrels anyways, kinda scream for something that performs a bit better than good ole .223...

You could always get a barrel made that is headspaced to the bolt.

the short handguard version, silverish bolt, purchased around Oct 2020

Good shooting there man. Our M10X is pretty accurate also. Loving it so far. I was able to get 1.3MOA on camera. Also a 1.5 MOA with plain S&B FMJ's ( it is in the accuracy video) and the wife had a couple of sub MOA's with handloads off camera (so they don't count hahaha). I have not had the pleasure of shooting the MCR in 7.62x39 yet but they seem to be good also.

Are you getting that direct from Kodiak, or from True North Arms? Are you getting the aluminum or steel upper?

I didn't buy it from TNA, and it's a regular Aluminum upper.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how it does with Chinese surplus as it could very quickly replace my 5.56 upper for 2gun as everything out to 200m just needs to be 4moa and having seen the accuracy of the WS-MCR that seems quite possible. With ammo being 28c a round I'd be daft not to use it.

I like your videos, jelly that you got a rose gold bolt.
