My first gen upper rail didn't survive past 500 rounds without the upper rail epoxy bond breaking and my heavy mount and optic slid forward. Wolverine replaced the whole upper and I supplied a rwa muzzle brake which they also installed for me which was awesome. The new upper is a one piece design which remedy's this issue.
I then had various pins, sheer or pop out of the bolt or bolt carrier which led to some brutal weekend enders. As long as you are observant and stop shooting, and do not morter or hammer on the charging handle. Stop and look to check out what is going on, I don't see how you could catastrophically damage the firearm. That said, it will always fire consistently until it wont. And the failures are quite obvious.
I was able to install the tna ar pin kit to take care of the issues myself without being without it. Last weekend I put 400 through it without a single failure. Those stoppages are only an issue with the roll pins used from the factory. The TNA pin kit, some punches and some time, made me fall in love with it again. I took it out to 500 meters and was hitting an 8 inch gong with it on a windy ass day. I was impressed. But I know there is more in it. I recommend the rwa brake and their bolt release. The rifle itself is very heavy, so it is soft shooting, and with the brake it is even more tame..
So as it is stock, it may need a few things, mine was an early model, perhaps the new ones are better. But If you toss 25 bucks in parts into it, what ever design or revision you have it will end up pretty decent. I think I have 2200 rounds through mine. With the occasional Non-chlorinated brake cleaner spray and then a light coat of oil where ever it needs it. It will work out and will lead to a smile on you're face in these terrible times.
