I want to hear from Kel Tec SU16 Tactical owners or those who've handled both on their pros & cons. Price point similar (I know both are near or totally sold out right now). I have the WS-MCR and am really pleased with it. Cons I find mostly in barrel weight, sharper edges on the upper/lower and that it could have been made a bit slimmer.

I had a couple of SU 16, both ran like a top and were capable of MOA,with handloads.
There were a few people who had the rear of the receiver crack,but that was a few years since I've read anything about it.
I think the issue was fixed.
And it may have been users fault,by incorrect reassembly.
Warranty is lifetime, for the original owner.

I've shot both, though not extensively. I prefer the WS-MCR. Too much plastic on the SU16 and it feels flimsy ti me. I prefer the WS-MCR to the WK180 as I find the fit and finish is better, but it seems like both have a LOT of variation lot to lot. Handle in perskn before you buy is my recommendation.

Go with the WS-MCR. I used to own a keltec SU-16 until the back of the receiver broke while firing. Support Canadian and don't buy the SU 16 trash.
Had a couple SU 16 rifles. Now have the newest version of the WS-MCR
There is NO comparison period. One is a plastic toy ,,,,one is a real rifle.

su-16 the good- has good accuracy and a very fast Triger "short reset". Almost sounds like a machine gun LOL
Very very light to trot through the bushes with.
The bad- a mixture of plastic and cheap metal is a recipe for disaster when shooting High pressure rifle rounds.
will it break while your shooting it ? are you willing to bet your life or eyes on it ?
I was out shooting with mine with my buddy. we both had SU 16's

Its WAY overpriced for what you get. I think its more of a short use Survival gun.
It feels like an airsoft gun.
The WS-MCR is built like a tank. You can really feel the weight.

Well all I can say is,search the forum for the last 8 years, I bet your lucky if you find 3 SU16 failures.
Then search the forum ,for the last 6 months, for these 180s, see what ya find..lol
Having said that,i would not buy another SU 16.
And I've been wanting to buy a WS,but just can't seem to pull the trigger.

I think a lot of the 180 issues come from the earlier generations. I've yet to read any major issues with the latest WS-MCR pictured above. Mine has ran flawless thus far. I have read varying problems with older renditions. The roll pin to me is not what i'd call a problem, same as not including the bolt release.
Honestly the only advantages the SU 16 tactical offers over the 180 models is that its super light weight, far better balanced and more pointable. Also has a lifetime warranty if u buy it new.
They did suffer from cracked rear receivers and NO it was NOT because of user error! Its caused by the AK like gas piston slowly unthreading from the bolt carrier. This slowly pushes the action further and harder into the action stop and eventually if left unchecked....into the back of the receiver => cracked.
A couple years back Kel-Tec supposedly addressed the issue by staking the piston rod so it wont back out. So id be confident that newer production SU 16s no longer suffer from this. Old models can be updated via the lifetime warranty IF u bought one new.
If ur looking for a plinker and competition gun, id say go for a 180 model. If ur looking for a super portable varmint gun, or back country plinker, get the SU 16 tactical.

I own the su16 predator model and it's awesome. Super lightweight and compact, and no problems of out of the (only) 200 rounds or so I've put through it. Until I picked up the JRC in .45 recently, my su16 was my go-to/truck gun/grab in the night rifle. It's not meant for high volume shooting, but I consider it a great gun for what it is.

I am torn between selling my su-16 tactical and buying a 180.
Su-16 is light and fun. Doesn't like 62 grain I've noticed.
