curious as with the new horandy 25CM being out or out soon, what the benifit would be going to a wsm case?
I haven't really looked into either to be honest but from guys posts and not sure grain of bullets it sounds like 25wsm is screaming down the barrel.
quick google shows 128 horandys at a modest 2850 134gr 2800fps no clue on what a hand load would be.
Fast is good imo but barrel life is better, however this day and age with powders bullets and ammo being so pricey it seems like gone are the days of blasting rounds out of multiple rifles with affordability at the range.

25 wssm runs right around the same speeds as my 25-06. Pretty impressive out of that little case. 25 cm is about the same as the 25 Souper I used to have, slightly less case capacity. I think there are many 25 cal niches. I've had 25 acp, 25 copperhead (25-222) 250 Savage, 250 AI 257 Robert's, 257 Robert's AI, 25 Souper, 25-06, 25 wssm, 257 Wby, and 257 STW. Some folks like to go fast, some don't. Everything has a use, even that tiny little 25 acp. Oh, and 25 wsm is a wildcat on a bigger case than the 25 wssm. Just in case you weren't aware. - dan

I wish Back in the day I picked up a wssm or two …..now you find them but barrels are wore out …ya I missed the boat on those

I have had all 3 of the wssm cartridges. The 25 wssm was my favorite. I wish they still made them. I would buy a new one in a heartbeat if they started making them again. Hopefully hornady starts making ammo for one and maybe it will give me a reason to build one.

They are making ammo for the 223 and 243 but nothing for the 25 wssm. I would be interested if rifles were available again. so far no one is building one.
It's easy to size 243 up to 25. One pass through your sizing dies, and your done. - dan
