How short are they, couldn't find much info, just thinking about another build for no other reason then because. I know all the flaws, but still interested. Shorter then a model 7? Anyone ever weighed one. There's lots of brass avaliable to wildcat, wssm necked up interests me. Winchester vs browning action?

Thinking short light pack gun that would get carried way more then fired, have a couple titaniums, just looking for something interesting to add. Bolt action repeater only.
Thanks in advance

I am not sure of the weight of the action, but it is shorter than a M7. Have a look at the 375 and 458 b&m super short. They are taking 300wsm brass triming it back and necking to 375/458. Run from a 16 1/2” barrel that gives some thump from a short little rifle.

Have a 6.5 saum and lots of saum brass, have considered necking that up, but would like to hang onto that brass, Aussies are necking up wssm brass and seem happy with results, maybe someone with a wssm rifle could add some info. Will check out those super shorts

I briefly looked into the model 70 super-short actions and they were really short, shorter than a model 7. Much shorter than a normal M70 short action. You wouldn't get any short action magnum cartridge in one, other than something off the wssm case.
I've seen a couple Model 70's go for under 500$ in the 25 wssm cartridge. Seems like no one wants to get into one. But maybe that's the opportunity to play cheap. Especially if you have access to the brass.

They are popular in the US, for custom builds to get around hunting rules about cartridge lengths...

I have a push feed 223wssm that I got in a trade deal a good ten years ago. I have been mulling over what to do with it for a while, thats where I found the b&m super shorts. I would like to do a 458, a 325gr bullet at 2300 is some decent punch from a short handy rifle.

Unfortunately nothing's cheap, barrel, smith, custom dies, reamer, but I'm liking it. Those b&m super shorts are very interesting
