WTF! Can't get H4895 or Varget locally now either...

Having no luck lately. Grande Prairie seems to be sold out of everything until July...too late for me to play with my milsurps before the Ross shoot in Calgary the first week of July...

Is this happening all over or just here?

I've found that IMR 4320 seems to work in cartridges that like Varget, you could work up a load using that...

The big buying spree and hoarding in the US has caused all of the shortages, hopefully it gets better over the next 6 months.

VV N-140 is very close to Varget, and readily avalable from Hirsch Precision, as well as most other Vihtavouri powders.

Group buying certainly helps with shipping/ hazmat charges.

Out west our reloading supplies seem to cost so much more than out east...

The store where I buy my supplies from just got a decent shipment of powder in about a month ago, I got a lb of varget for $40 and I bought 2 lbs of imr 4895. went back over the weekend and he is all out of the 4895 but still has a couple lbs of varget left, I should have picked some up but being stupid I left without it.

Well it seems to me there is much better pricing on projectiles out west vs east. Hmm, let's make a trade!

They wanted nearly $35.00/lb for it when I'm used to paying $200/8lbs
I have another 8lb jug on order whenever that comes in.
I have enough till spring 2014.

If Varget is your powder of choice and hard to find, try a pound of CFE223. I am very happy with the results it is giving me and just picked up an 8lb jug. It is an impressive powder.
