I am building a 54 cal TC Renagade ,I bought a L&R lock and a target trigger from Track of the wolf , but I forgot to order some flints..any good ones in Canada

Yes, they DO look like good flints....oh wait...It's the same damned flint in all the pictures, cloned with photoshop.

I guess it's not just any good flint, it's the best flint they could find..:pirate:

I got mine off a beach on Cortez Island.
There's even a lake there named "Gunflint Lake" where the old sailing ships used to stock up on flints for their cannons.
As soon as I found the rock I knew what it was, and striking an axe against it produced a shower of sparks.
I think the stuff is called chert.

It's been my experience that there is no substitute for English flints.
I buy mine from Dixie Gun Works in Tennessee. No problems getting flints across the border.. :)

Edit: And Dixie is faaaaassssstttt, too! Usually a max of 2 weeks turnaround. That's faster than I've ever gotten anything from Edmonton or Calgary.
