A friend and I decided to go hunting today, and this is what we found (thanks to the Ravens)

Donkey's head...maybe someone brought out a donkey for bear bait and killed in once they were on site? Fred Bear used to do that...up here in Canada too.

BTW: If any one remembers budgies were what we called those draft dodgers/ hippies that lived back in the mountains like hillbillies.

It would be the guides that did this for Fred Bear.
When it was legal to bait for grizzly bear in BC, some guides sometimes brought in an old horse for a spring grizzly hunt.
I knew the guide Fred Bear used when he got his first grizzly in BC. He may have used the remains of a moose, but his guide did not use a horse or donkey.

In more seriousness, it looks like either a game processor, poacher, or hunter's dump sight. How far from a road is it?

If it's all livestock left overs then most likely it's where someone is just dumping the left overs after butchering.

Hunting this year up in Burns Lake I came across a pile of pig heads, feet, guts, etc with a huge old bald headed eagle guarding it. He was not happy with me being there.

Man that must have been a little bit creepy to come onto. I actually stumbled onto a large leg bone (with knee type joint), the other day,again thanks to ravens. Not sure what it was, too large for deer, no moose or anything in my area. Didn't get a photo but after some googling I'm pretty sure it was bear.

Sure looks like a Moose head to me.
I always thought a butcher shop/slaughter house had certain protocol for disposing of by-products. I think it's illegal to put that stuff in the garbage as it is considered a biohazard? Anyone know?

Contact your local Natural Resource Officer with info and location. They will check it out as the mess might be nothing or something of intrest.
