WW1/WW2 reenactments in Canada?

Some WW1 German re-enactment units in the U.S., I know of a one in Hamilton, ON. but nothing on the scale of the U.S. shows.

I have been thinking of starting my own group as a result.

Googe the Perth Regiment, this may be what you are interested in. I encountered a number of them at a gun show quite a number of years ago in Kingston. The website is still active........Smitty223

- WW2 Perth Regiment and Kampgruppe Norden (one of the German sub-units has members in Montreal), most members in the Ottawa/Toronto area, events are held at CFC Borden a couple of times a year.

- WW1 a couple of Units in Ontario, no events in Canada. Everybody travels for two events a year in Newville, PA. USA

Kampfgruppe Haase/Norden same group opposing force to the Perths composed of many German sub-groups (Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal).

Last re-enactment I attnded in Canada was the 2006 centennial of the Brits getting on the boat after telling Canada you are now in charge of running the country:D

A FEW GROUPS IN ATLANTIC CANADA 1st can para, and a group in halifax. there some who are on facebook.
also a few airsoft teams / groups are extremely similar and do reenactments as well.

While it says "Airsoft" in the name, the group has developed a bit beyond that. We do the odd blank battle (progressing a bit more), airsoft tacticals here and there and some living history/display events.
Slowly but surely, we're expanding. Any questions please feel free to shoot me a message.

And as mentioned before, KG Haase:

Sound group of guys, I have not had the pleasure of attending their events yet, but it is on my to do list!

There was a German Army re-enactment group in Calgary area years ago ( Based on the ?Grossendeutschland Division?). I have no idea if they're still active at all.

I heard that they even had an armoured vechile as part of their re-enactments.

I've always wound up travelling to attend the events in Washington/Oregon. Cooler toys. lol. The organization I fall in with (Army Group 1944) has units with MGs, armoured vehicles (Sdkfz. 222's), anti-tank guns, etc. Lots of fun, with lots of noise. ;)

Didn't know there was anything in Alberta though. Might have to check it out.
