Hello fellow CGNers,
I'm looking for a source of WW2 .303 British Drill rounds for museum work, school lectures, Legion Reunions, etc.
I currently only have 2 - one is British and the other is Canadian. I would like to have 15 - 20 more rounds of each for me to the above correctly.
The WW2 British Drill Round has a nickle plated case with 3 indentations equally spaced out along its side, which are painted red; and has a copper FMJ projectile. The primer pocket is painted red as well. This round is headstamped R L for Royal Labratories; and has a British broad-arrow mark stamped between the "R" and the "L". It is also headstamped "VI*".
The WW2 Canadian Drill Round is similar to that of the WW2 British Drill Round. It too has the copper FMJ projectile and the nickle plated case with 3 indentations equally spaced out along its side. However, the indentations and the primer pocket on this round are not painted red. This round is headstamped DAC (the "C" has the broad-arrow mark inside it) for the Dominion Arsenal of Canada and is War Dated 1942. It is also headstamped "VII".
If any member has any of these rounds that they would not mind parting with; or, at least point me in the right direction where I can get some, it would greatly be appreciated.
There was a chap here a few months ago that I was I was in contact with said he had some but I since lost his contact information.
For those of you on this forum able to assist me with this matter, please send me a PM and email me at the following email addresses:
