Hello All,
Does anyone have any info about a Canadian Gun registy in during WW2? I had just made another post about a .35rem FN modele 1900 that I just aquired that was my grandfathers. I just took the butt plate of the stock and found a RCMP gun registation certificate from 1940??? Was there restrictions on why you could own a rifle at that time or a government gun inventory incase we ran short for the war effort? Its a real old form and the registrans occupation is listed as farmer. With it in the stock was an old dairy reciept from a cream shipment from the same year. Presumably to prove he was actually a farmer? Let me know if you know some history.
Thanks,
