WW2 German Gunsight Camera

Ours were much smaller, electrically driven, mounted firmly in the wing and aligned by the Armourer.

Mounting needed to be solid; when you got the 12 .303 Brownings all running on a Hurricane II, there was a LOT of vibration. With enough tracers, you could see the separate cones of fire.

I picked one up some years ago, showed it to my Dad. He wasn't interested; he had repaired too many with he was at No. 2 B&G and then with 133 Sq'n.

I got excited when I saw the price of the one in the original post, but mine is made by Kodak (kb9a) and probably post-war so it's not worth anything. There's one on ebay for $300 and another for $25. As you said, its smaller, only about 7 inches long, also 16mm.

Some of that footage was brutal! The number of aircraft and crews lost in the aerial bombardment of Germany was staggering. The courage it took to return to tough targets again and again was amazing. Enough to make you feel lucky as an infantryman by comparison.
