I was doing some online reading, and came across an article that mentioned the Chinese were still making 6.5 Japanese ammo in the 1960's to feed all the Arisaka's they had left over http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0BQY/is_9_51/ai_n14816189/pg_2. With some combloc countries cashing in by selling their old war captures, I wonder if China will get in on the game in the future. I wouldn't mind a "Chinese Capture" Arisaka...What do you think?

It has already happened. There have been quantities of them sold surplus, some converted to 7.62x39, along with Chinese contract Mausers, Chinese made Mausers, and variants and a great many Mauser broomhandle pistols. When CA firearms were being sold, there were Inglis Brens, and LB Stens, some converted to 7.62x25 from China.

I have a few Chinese Mausers and they are all "very well used", and all the others I've seen have been no better. I wouldn't expect the condition to be very good.

"...combloc countries cashing in by selling..." That's what Norinco is about. In any case, it wouldn't mean our twits would let them in.

Given the warlords, banditry, civil war, World War 2, and then the resumption of civil war that marked 1911-1949, I'd be impressed if there are any guns that made it out in decent condition. Bet they'd have a ton sof stories to tell if they could talk though!

Stuff that came out of China 20-25 years ago, none since.

- M-1 Carbines
- M-1 Garands
- Colt 1911 and 1911A1 Pistols
- Springfield 1903 Rifles
- Mauser 1896 Pistols and various Chinese copies
- Chinese Contract Browning Hi-Power Pistols
- Chinese Made Mosin-Nagant M-44 Carbines
- Hanyang Com 88 Rifles
- Assorted Japanese Arisaka Rifles and Carbines
- Chan-Kai-Chek 98 Mausers
- Chinese Contract FN Mausers
- Japanese Army swords with nismatched scabbards.
- Also over the last 20 years, in different assorted lots Military Issue SKS Carbines, now just cheap commercial versions.

I seem to recall coming across a Chicom M3 grease gun many years ago. The commies also had tons of 1928 Thompsons during their revolution days.

Never seen an actual Long Branch No4 MKI* Rifle that has come back from China into Canada. Closest I have seen are a few LB No 4 MKII Chinese marked bayonets.

Except for the Hi-Powers all the guns were in very rough shape, I doubt very much anyhing worthwhile is left anyway. Anything that was not imported 25 years ago is probably a mountain of rust by now.

Don't count on it, the Chinese are very much like the Russians in that they don't throw anything away that they think they can make a big buck on.

Also keep in mind the players involved are not your average guy with a drafty garage full of stuff, but more likely a few Army Generals with access to climate controlled stores/bunkers with loads of surplus to sell off.

I doubt any ww2 or earlier stuff is stored in climate controled bunkers

its obsolete

its likely all gone now i bet TONS were given to the north koreans and then Vietcong/NVA

lots probably ended up with commie rebel groups around the globe
