WW2 Norwegian soldiers kit

Any more info on the pistol? Never heard of a Kongsberg before.
Quick lesson,
Kongsberg is a town and company in Norway. Similar to our Long Branch arsenals. It is/was the Norwegian national firearm manufacturer and has been around since the mid 1800s. It still is a defense contractor.

Also the first Krag-Jorgenson rifles along with the pistols, were made in Kongsberg.

They use a stylized K with crown on top as their mark, again similar to our C/|\ and LB marks on our Lee Enfield rifles.

Koldt.
I don't know if this is of any interest to you, but anyways....
To "complete" your Norwegian WWII presentation, if you go to www.kongsbergcolten.com and click on "fabrikkbrev" you could at least until recently (06) order the factory letter for your Colt for around $50CAD or so and a print out of the sighting in/test target for around $4 CAD.

It does however seem like you have to use a Norwegian address to send your request in from that site, but I'm sure that you could try sending in your request by emailing info@kongsbergcolten.com

Image shows the factory letter they issue.

Here are both of my Norwegian battle rifles from WW2.

The long one, M1894 (seen above) has the short bayonet. The short one, M1912/16, has the long bayonet.

I gotta get some better pics.

I've found a cleaning rod for the M94 since this pic, and a sling for the M1912.

Just great!

I'm going to tell my friend Bjarne to get on here and take a look. His last name starts with "Aa" so you know he will be interested!

Lovely collection.

Tak.

Currently downloading the 2008 movie Max Manus, I'll keep a keen eye out for this gear when I watch it.

I've been looking on line trying to find that movie.

If you happen to know the whereabouts of the MM movie for sale, puleeeeezzzz let me know where to send money to.:)
