Going out on a limb here, but I’ve been wanting to get some ww2 produced Russian ammunition for my collection, even if it’s just a single round. How hard is this search going to be? Does anyone happen to have a lead on a potential source?
I realize that the iron curtain during the Cold War prevented a lot of things from coming to North America, but I’m hoping that there’s some out there somewhere.

It is around, a gun show and just talking to people will probably lead you into some. I was given a box of assorted late war years x54R by a range officer at Silverdale a year or two back. He was curious how they would shoot but didn't want to try it in his SVT 40, so I shot them from a mosin and every case split wide open and lots of gas came up out of the receiver. Best for collecting rather then shooting.

I have seen some loose rounds for sale, thing was it was mix of Finnish,Soviet,Chinese and some other makes I don't know.

I'm pretty sure Russian rounds were meant for aircraft guns since they had red primers.Watch out for those.
