Hi,

i received this very nice Military Beer Stein at christmas from a family friend who is from germany. I think it is from wwi or between wwi and wwii. Unfortunately, the stein is not named or dated. Anyone has info about these stein?

Thanks, Fred

Not pretending to be an expert on these, but ran into a lady who had a couple of the regimental , porcelain kind, said they were reproductions.

Grizz

Based on how "new" the glass looks and how crisp the edges are on the pewter, I am gonna say that's a repro...
I would agree with you. Having lived there for a few years, I can verify that the Germans are very fond of their beer and fancy beer steins are prevalent. They are quite a common gift item. Picked up a few myself.

Thanks for the info! The stein look a little bit used in person, but could be a repro. There seem to be a lot or porcelain repro, so there could also be a glass repro market.
